I have a mid 60’s fender mount remote cable control spotlight, it was listed as a accessory in the Chevrolet Accessory parts catalog back then with a p/n 986698 and called a Safetlight.
I’m trying to replace the main powerwire located behind the light bucket. I’ve disassembled the light as far as I can, I cannot completely remove the light bucket.
Does anyone have a breakdown of this light or knows how to completely disassemble this light.
I think the cable screws into the splined shaft. I have applied some torque on the cable trying to break it loose but do to the rarity of this light i didnt get crazy, I’m asking for some help. I have several pictures I can send.
Thanks Bustedknuckles
