hi I am new to this site , user name is zippydogman. I have a problem, I just changed intake manifold on my 93 gmc truck with a 4.3 l / tbi fuel injection. When taking it apart I did not make a note where the bolts & the studs go no the intake manifold . I put the gaskets & sealant on right , installed the nuts, bolts , studs , torque it in the right order. I thought looks good, nice job. Then I went to install the bracket that holds the Map sensor . EGR sensor and few other things. I had put the stud where a bolt goes and a bolt where the stud goes . I had a bolt to replace the stud so I did it first and torque it down . This bolt was the second one in from the cab fire wall on the passenger side it screws down into a water jacket its job is to keep water out of the intake port. pushrods , lifters , cam & the whole lower end . I had it up to temp a few times ,test drove it and checked for leaks , I found one the bolt next 4o the coil and the heater hose outlet the one I replaced I saw antifreeze. Having the heater hose right next to the bolt I thought it was the leak and put a turn on the clamp ,”Fixed”, I was wrong, I pulled the coil out to see better and found the bolt is leak . The sealant that you use is the type that cures with out air and after it is installed . I did not tap out the holes in the head I did use a clean bolt and put sealant on it and torque it down. The stud I put in the same fashion has know leak. Anyone have an idea if I can fix this with out pulling the manifold off ? ( this is the spot where it leak before & the reason I changed the gasket )
