I had the dreaded catastrophic lifter failure on my 2015 6.2 Denali Yukon XL. It has been at the dealer since May waiting for a new GM engine and they have no idea or estimate on when the engine would be coming.
Does anyone have insight into when the 6.2 engines would be available again? Anyone else in the same boat? I don’t know how long is reasonable to wait given that is our daily driver and we have been borrowing cars from relatives for months now.

I have a 2014 Silverado LTZ with 6.2 that had the same issue at 140,000 miles. Dropped the whole lifter into the engine and chewed everything up. I’ve been waiting since March 22, 2022 and GM told me then that it could be over 12 months. As of last week there is still no available time frame and they’re not building new ones in the 2022 models anymore so it doesn’t look like the supply issue is getting any better.
My best advice would be to try to get in on the class action lawsuit. My attorney is going to be filing loss of use against GM since it’s a known plagued issue that they refuse to fix. Hopefully that will offset some of the issues we’ve had. Unfortunately, we’re just screwed at the moment. Im sorry dude.
