I have a 2024 LT trail boss on order, It will be 12 weeks this week, however it is still in status code 3400, but has a VIN. I asked the dealership and they said they have never seen that before because VIN’s are normally generated in the 3800 code. Has anyone ever come across this?

Just a quick ?? How are you checking your status of your build? Are you just getting it through your dealer? I’ve searched the web and I’m unable to find anything. Thnx

Some of it has come through the dealer, but if you go to the chevy website on your phone and hit the little text bubble in the bottom right corner it’ll take you to a message with a bot. It’ll prompt you to enter your name, then your VIN or your order number and it will give you a message. Mine reads “your order has been accepted by GM and is on its way to the production process” (Not word for word). Which I found another forum that lists all the status codes and what their messages are and that one matches up to code 3400.

Do not ever trust canned messages you get from the bot. When I was waiting for my truck I was told everything from truck was built to awaiting production. Even told once my truck was built at a plant that doesn’t even build the 1500’s. 3400 is in fact “Order Broadcast for production” and 3800 is Produced and VIN is available” Once truck ships your dealer will be able to track it along the way and could take a week or two to a few weeks depending on if it gets side tracked. Mine went from 3800 to 4300 in about two weeks. Don’t give up, I went thru three orders and two model years over fifteen months to get mine. Also watch your dealers inventory on his website, your truck might show up there as “In transit” when it hits transportation, mine did.

My 2024 was accepted on June 15th one week later i received a TPW 7/24 it went to 3400 on 7/27 with a vin number. It was produced on 8 /10 it sat at the plant until yesterday 9/5 4200 it’s on the move. TrailBoss… ask your sales manager they have every code from start to finish.

Don’t get to excited for a VIN number. I have a 2023 Colorado Z71 made the 3rd week of June and it has been code 3800 since, and hasn’t moved. 12 weeks later and it still hasn’t been shipped. The New car smell will be gone before i get it.

      dtoon,
I’m not getting excited about the vin number, but what i am getting excited about is what date vin view said it should be delivered. 10/30/2023.

Looks like I have a similar story. Ordered a 2024 1500 LTZ in June, received a Build date of 8/14, called dealer on 8/17 and got a VIN number which told me that the truck will be coming from Mexico. The plant was reported to be closed on those dates. Talked to the dealer on the 8/24 build code was 3400. Went home and called GM Customer care and gave them the order number and was told that order was waiting a production date. I then told her that I had a VIN number and after being put on hold for a while she told me it had been produced and waiting to be released to the carrier. Talked to the dealer on 9/7 and was told there was no change in the 3400 build code. At this point I have no clue what to believe. Any advise on what to do now? I know one thing I will never order a truck again.

I ordered a 2024 2500HD in lake shore blue on 7/19, after 2 calls to my salesman over 8 weeks , with no updates, called general manager on 9/13 and was told they had a vin number and a TPW of 9/11. Called salesman the next day to get the vin number only to be told they just got the vin and he had no idea of a TPW and I must of misunderstood the sales manager.
Stopped to another dealer to see a Equinox in the same color, they checked the vin and order number was told neither was valid. Also said a vin number was issued when build was completed. Called customer care with vin and was told order has been excepted, check with dealer for updates.
And now they go on strike!!

I received a call on 9/15 from the sales manager, he told me my delivery date went from 10/30 to 10/10 according to vin view. He also told me to check my email when he was on the phone so i did and it was the invoice for my truck, he said he would sell it to me at invoice and not MSRP. I said that’s awesome.2024 LT TRAILBOSS

The Chevy website chat won’t give out status codes anymore, they only confirm what the chatbot said, which really has only one useless response for multiple statuses. For the most part, you’re in the dark until it shows up.

So I found out my truck has been produced and is sitting in Mexico. But now there’s a hold on it. They say there’s 1 exception. Does anyone know what that means. My dealership literally said they don’t know.
