I’ve been talking with my dealer and also GM, The color I’ve ordered for my 2024 Chevy 2500HD is Lakeshore Blue Metallic. Nobody can give me good time frame when it will be released. They all say future allocation. Has anybody ever gotten a better answer or time frame. Thnx

Have you messaged Chevrolet with your order number?

CharlieZ, no I don’t have a order number yet. Due to the fact the color isn’t available yet, so the dealer can’t order the truck till the color is available.

Just my thoughts on this, but because they started producing a 24 in Feb of 23 and basically calling it a mid year refresh they are not prepared to offer all colors or options. They have chosen to start with there three basic colors. I also had an order for the Blue and changed it to black just to get the order accepted. I bet it will not be until 3Q sometime you see color options expanded, again just my take on it.

Believe they are taking the orders in blue now but I haven’t heard if giving a build date yet or if still gonna be couple weeks or so yet, from what I was told, they took my order week ago but heard nothing since yet.

My order of a black 24 2500 HD was placed in March. I’ve heated nothing about when I’ll get it. I’ve talked to Chevy and my dealer.

i too ordered a black 2500HD did the work truck with a few options like all black badges, vinyl seats, carpet floor, electric tow miorrs, Duramax, Spray in bed liner, 17″ aluminum wheels with the 265 tires, they gave me a order number the day i ordered it July 12 , 2023 had approval from GM on the 18th and just got my Target Production Week yesterday, 8-21-2923. i had to type in “Advisor” on Chevrolet website text line to get the TPW, the bot kept texting me I’m approved and waiting for production. key words to ask the “Advisor” is [what is my target production week] this might work for searching up that blue color as well. hope this helps Yall. right now, if i type in “check my order status ” to the bot i still get the “your order has been approved and is waiting for production.”

I ordered my 2500HD in April. Here is what the dealer told me, so take it with a grain of salt. “New year models usually start hitting lots around end of summer/beginning of fall. Due to the 2024 being a new body style, Chevy started producing the model 6 months (March 2023) early but only in Black and White and a sprinkle of Reds. According to Chevrolet, they would not start painting LBM until Oct 1.

Got an update mid June and dealer said….In May/June, Chevrolet started painting gray earlier than planned and pushed up LBM to Sept 1. This seems to make sense. Once a week I run a search for exactly what I ordered, using a midwest zip code, and search a 2000 mile radius. Gray started to pop up as “in transit”.

I need the truck so I can buy the camper!

So the renderings of this color on the chevy and GMC websites are not very accurate, it looks like it should be a little lighter version of the old Northsky blue. Now that these are starting to show up at dealers, dealership pictures of this color both in the sunlight and indoors look much lighter, and grey-ish. I can only find pictures of this color on Sierras, terrains and equinox (GMC calls it downpour, but it has the same paint code).

I did see a 2024 Sierra in LBM and I agree with you opinion. I had a 2017 2500HD in Northsky Blue, which is why I am waiting for this color. I’ve seen some stock dealer photos that have LBM as a much brighter blue and if that was true, I wouldn’t want it.

As of yesterday, Chevrolet still hasn’t accepted my order placed back in April.

I had a 2024 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ ordered since March of this year. Never got an update about it. I was looking at Chevy dealers near me and found one almost exactly like I ordered. I cancelled the order and bought one off the lot. I’m completely satisfied. I’m guessing that trucks of your choice are getting into dealers now. Since I paid $1,000 when I ordered the truck will I get that back?

After seeing this color in person on a 2024 equinox at a local dealer it does look more grey in direct light and a hint of green or teal. I called my dealer and changed the color on my order to radiant red. They then informed me that the lakeshore blue color was the only thing holding up the build, this is on a 1500.
LBM is not awful, just does not look desirable to me. Reminds me of the blue granite color from 2007-2013 which in my opinion, is an ugly color.

I tried to post a screenshoot. LBM is starting to hit the lots. If you go on chevrolet.com, build the 2500 and do a 2000 mile search from middle America, you can see all the ones in transit to the dealers.

I order my 2024 LSB 3500 CC on May 15, 2023. My order has still not been accepted by GM. My dealer knows nothing (or so they say) and GM knows nothing. (They say talk to your dealer) It’s like they each point fingers at each other. I found that a local dealer here in Western NY has a LSB 3500 “In Transit”. I’m thinking I’m going to swing by sometime this week and see if it is on the lot. As long as the blue isn’t a light blue, I might buy that one and cancel my order. I want a dark blue – not a light blue or a cobalt blue so I’m hoping it’s like the other 1500’s I’ve seen which are dark.

I had a 24 2500 hd ordered since mid March. Tired of waiting. Found one local and bought it. Got my 1K deposit back.

Dealer called again today. I have two issues; 1-GM hasn’t accepted the build due to “various free flow options”. This could literally be anything extra from bedliner, power tailgate, roof lamps etc. 2-Even if the options were available, dealer hasn’t been allocated a 2500HD so GM still wouldn’t accept my order. I purposely chose a high volume dealer in order to not have this problem.

I ordered my 2024 2500HD CC Custom in LSB on July 19, got an order number August 22nd and Vin number September 13. Used the chat bot and called Chevrolet and was told it had been accepted. On September 21st the chat bot replied Congratulations your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional details on that process.
Fingers crossed it not all smoke being blown up the you know what!
Hoping the continued strike will not affect shipping from Canada to NY.
Still have not heard any news from my selling dealer.

My dealer finally called me on 10/03, Chevy issued a release for shipping to take place sometime between October and January of 2024!
It’s good to know GM places customer satisfaction at such a high priority.

I ordered a 2500HD ZR2 in slate grey on August 17th and my order was accepted by GM on the August 21st due to an allocation from the dealer. On September 26th it was built. For the next week, it went from status 3800, 4300, bayed for the bedliner, and now back apparently back at 3800 and pulled for quality control. Not sure what is going on at the flint assembly plant and their shipping department. Anyone know if there is a way to actually find out what items an order would be pulled for quality control? The GM chat is terrible and the dealer has no idea.

Picked up my truck today, dealer called Wednesday 11/15 to tell me it had arrived that morning. It was released for shipping on 10/03, was shipped and arrived in Selkirk, NY south of Albany on the 15th. Sat for 35 days before final shipping to the dealer. No communication from Chevrolet of shipping progress until 11/14 when they called to see if dealer wanted to pick it up or have it delivered.
All that aside, very happy with truck, especially the color. Looks so much better in person than on website.
