Hello guys I ordered a 2023 Silverado HD, I live in south texas, I’m looking for insight. I’ve never ordered a truck before, always off a lot, I have been using the Chevy messaging thing and the last thing I was told was “ Your vehicle is in transit. From this point, your dealer is in the best position to provide estimated delivery times. Thank you for your patience.”
Is shipping still backed up or has the Covid lull subsided and should I expect my truck soon? Any inquiries appreciated, thanks.

It could be in transit, to the yard they hold partial built trucks waiting on parts. There is no way to know for sure until you get a VIN and dealer can then track it online. Until then the chat and advisor is a bunch of BS. Good luck

When did you order your 2500HD and what trim level was it? I’m waiting on a High Country, ordered middle of May. A week or so ago the messenger thing said ordered scheduled for production, whatever that means.

If you ordered a 23 and it says in transit consider it a blessing. They just started production of 23’s 7/18. I ordered mine(first and last time I will order) on 6/25 and I think it got built last week, at least it was at event code 3400. I found out that the dealer you order from is truly the telling factor in getting one to production. And finding out anything is like winning the mega-millions!

Just found out yesterday, it’s sitting at the rail yard waiting to be delivered to the dealer 2-3 hours away. Hopefully it doesn’t get stuck there for too long. I’ve heard the horror stories. Good luck with yours.

As a follow up to my earlier post this morning. I just went to Chevrolet.com and messaged my order number to the assistant, I received this reply…

“Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process.”

A week or so ago it returned the message, “Ordered, scheduled for production” . Will call the dealer tomorrow to confirm and maybe get the latest code.

Forget about chevy chat or chevy emails being of any use whatsoever. While waiting for my truck I got so many conflicting stories from them it became humorous. One of the best ones was when they told me my truck was built in Flint, MI. Knowing only HD’s are built there and mine is a 1500 I knew then and there they were full of BS. Then the icing on the cake was after I took delivery of truck on the 14th of June, I continued to get their canned emails for no less than 6 weeks more, every Tuesday. Same canned message, “your truck has been built and is awaiting transportation, we have no further information, and your dealer is your best source going forward”

I just contacted them and mine was made last week. But the great adventure now is getting it to your dealer! There is horror story after horror story on this forum about waiting after it was made to get it to the dealer!

Jmw, was yours made in Oshawa? I’m told mine was. Produced, in transit. Will be checking with the dealer later in the week.

How are the 2500HD’s shipped from Oshawa once completed? Mine will be going to a Dealer in NYS. Anyone know?

I bought one in April that was made in the Oshawa plant in middle of May. Showed in transit shortly after that. I took delivery of it 8-8-22. They ship by train out of Oshawa and they have a shortage of train cars I’m told. I’ve heard they have 10k trucks in a lot up there waiting for their turn to ride a train to somewhere.
