Hey guys just starting a new topic on the 2023 Sierra/Silverado orders to share experience with ordering our new truck.

I am awaiting for a Sierra AT4 3.0L Duramax with sunroof and premium package in volcanic tin coat. (Cayenne for 2021/22 model year)

I first ordered a 2021 in late 2021 yrs. Never got picked up and was submitted as a 2022 LTD….it hasn’t been picked up either. It was submitted again for a 2022 refresh again in February 2022 and it died there when they had the constraints on both cayenne tin coat color and the 3.0L Duramax.

This week I resubmitted it and the order number has been generated for a 2023 in Volcanic tin coat in lieu of the cayenne… The AT4 off-road high clearance steps assist from Premium Package are on constraint so Preferred Package and Safety Package have been used to be able to submit the order.

Finger crossed that this time it gets built.

      Cheers.

Made an account just for this post. I put a deposit on an order for a Sierra 2500 SLE back in late May, it sat at event code 1000 until 3 days ago when my dealer notified me that they had to scrap that one and place an order for a 2023 as the factories are already swapped over to produce the new models. When I had a chance to check the status yesterday it’s already at 2000-Accepted by GMC.

Although they also added that the in vehicle trailering package may not be added as apparently GMC is “saving the technology” for higher trim level sierras.

My Dealer submitted an order in October 21 for a 2021 Silverado Trail Boss 6.2 . The order had progressed and was to be delivered Jan 25th…Didn’t Happen then it was converted to an LTD …Didn’t Happen! Then in April they submitted an order for an 2022 refresh…Didn’t Happen
due to constraints…In June They submitted an order for a 2023 ..still nothing due to constraints….Lol
The price has gone up 7k since October of 21 lol
due to each year change offers no price guarantee..
      Wow !
Been told by corporate that they don’t care that you put 20 k down for this purchase… lol
I have never seen such a mess in my lifetime.
Corporate says they can’t do anything for me and they wished me best of luck.
      Who does this!
There is no way to insure if a dealer has alocations due to constraints..
No way to express my concerns..!
      GM IS BROKEN!
They advertise but nothing on lots!
I have search across the US and found the truck i wanted to find that they are already spoken for.
And have found one the dealer wanted 9k over MSRP!
      Good luck out there !
They offer no transparency what so ever !
The way i see it “false advertisement “!
We the people. We are Chevrolet!
They exists because of Us… !!!!

Met with my dealer this morning to put in my order (SLT, Pacific Blue, Duramax, NHT). After seeing the previous post about the trailering package not being added on an SLE I’m glad I went with an SLT (hopefully that’s a high enough trim!).

My 2022 reservation for a Denali Ultimate was created October 2021. Order placed in Jan. 2022. Accepted by GM in March and then cancelled by GM in April. I was informed by my local dealer in late April that my order would be moved to a 2023. Placed my 2023 order on the first day the dealers were allowed to enter 23 orders. Received a message today that my order has been accepted by GM and has been moved to status code 3000 “Order Accepted by Production Control”. I will reserve my excitement, though.

Ok I have a question. Is there a way to find out where your order is? I ordered a 2022 Denali 1 ton back in Jan 2022 and have been told by the dealer that it will be a 2023 now but it’s still in preliminary and no other info they can give me. Is there anything else I can do to find out where I sit with this

garagedoorguru I think I know where your truck is. I saw several thousand HD Chevy and GMC trucks parked out behind the Flint plant. In a yard behind the transporter depot. Yours may very well be among them.

Initiate a chat session on their website and you can use the chat bit to track your order using the 6 digit order code. If you want an exact status i.e. what event code your truck is at, you can ask to speak with a representative and they should have access to see where it is at. If the robot says your order has been submitted but not accepted, you are at 1100. After this, if your order gets accepted, the chat bot just tells you that it is moving towards the production process and you’ll need to talk to a real person to get the exact event code.

You shouldn’t give people false hopes. This chat and live advisor is a joke!!! I went through this for 15 months while I waited for my truck that finally got delivered last month. I would go on the chat weekly and get the same canned message and then ask for a “live advisor” who would give me conflicting reports. One week this “live advisor” even told me my truck was already built at the Flint plant and waiting transportation. I knew this was bs because mine is a 1500 and they don’t build them at the Flint plant. I am sure the “live advisor” was laughing thinking he had convinced me of this but I knew better. Like I said I took delivery on the 14th of June and every week even this week I get an email from them telling me the following:

Here is the current status for your order:

Your vehicle has been produced, waiting to be shipped, no ETA yet. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealership is the best source for additional details on that process.

I will send you another update next Tuesday.

If you would like to check on your vehicle order status before then, please feel free to chat from http://www.chevrolet.com.
For faster service, please reference your case number 9-7772821242 or your order number .

Thank you for Chevrolet choosing for your new vehicle!
        Chevrolet Customer Assistance

Keep in mind I have had my truck now for six weeks and have nearly 5000 miles on it!! Chevy chat is a joke, they might better shut it down.

That sounds about right. There are a lot of issues with the chat giving incorrect information. Personally, they have been consistent and their information lines up with what my salesman has been texting me. Yesterday I used it to check the status and it has moved up to 3300, accepted by production control and awaiting a TPW. It looks like they are a lot more accurate at the start of production, but I figure as things get more hectic throughout the model year they may not be able to give an accurate status.

As with anything, your results may vary, but this has been my experience so far.

pre-traded my Jeep wrangler in in feb and 8K down on an Ultimate order, and just like you guys, I was told no supercruise on May 2nd, and agreed the the 2500 taken off for loss of super cruise on the 83,000 truck, them May 15th they told me no 6.2 and asked if I wanted a turbo diesel instead, I said no and told them to put my name on a reg Denali, dealer said maybe a build on one late Aug, went and got my $25,000 trade in money and 8K dwn pwmt back, not even 4 days later(since I called around and left my name with other dealers on an Ultimate and was told everyone is spoken for) one of the dealers called me and told me a Ultimate came available(guy didn’t want it) I put 1000 down over the phone at 9:01 am when sales guy called me, bought it the next day with a 7K “market value increase”(gouging) but did it anyway, just before driving away the manager came up to me and said “you don’t know how rare this truck is, and that 6 people called to buy it and offered 10K over MSRP”, I asked why is it that rare? he said they only made 150 with everything they promised on it as advertised this year” – so don’t know how true that is but it has everything, plus the cat back exhaust and tonneau cover, for $91,000, if I’m hearing some people right, this one will be sold for 94,000? am I lucky or stupid? or a little bit of both? lol, btw-supercruise works awesome as well as everything they said would work…love this truck(Onyx black)…good luck all…not rubbing it in, just lucky I guess(lost tax savings with mt trade in though….I’ll work that out with my accountant later(manager said I could get that back….3500 is 3500!

Solid weekend for me. Received notification that my DU order now has a 8/26 build week associated to it. Exciting…but I will not throw any parties knowing all the 22s sitting in Mexico “awaiting parts.” Also received a notification and scheduled service to have the missing chips installed into my wife’s Acadia.

Ordered a ’23 Sierra 1500 AT4 about a month ago. Last week, received note from the dealer that I have a production week of Sept 19th! Fingers crossed that date holds, and that transport delays won’t be a huge deal. Can’t wait to get the arrival email!

I called about several 2022 AT4’s at a couple of different dealers. They said they were not available yet, because they said a company called Waldoch has bought hundred’s of sierra 1500’s. They lift them and put wheels on them and sell them to the dealers.
So this is part of the problem whey we, the customers can’t get a GMC in a reasonable time. GM has put waldoch ahead of their customers.
      I think this is terrible!!

No surprise here – showed up at the dealer for my “customer service recall” to have the rear seat heater control module installed and the BCM configured. Local dealer service shop had no idea why we would even bother showing up saying GM has delivered 0 components to be installed nor have they even allowed the service centers to order or request the components to satisfy these “customer service recall” installs. Just another failure in the super annoying process. GM sent me the notification and scheduled the service, not me, and the dealers/service centers are left holding the bag and looking like A-holes. Talked to a GM rep Friday, very low level. Seem like the higher ups are hiding possibly saving their bonuses. My truck is still sunning itself in Mexico since May. No info from my dealer , GM isn’t sharing any with them. Saw a Elevation delivered from Mexico to my Dealership in North Jersey with many paint scratches, My confidence level is low for the delivery of my Denali built in May for an October arrival. Disappointing to say the least. Once things even out I will get rid of the Caddy I purchased in March. Sickening 23’s can be built on August 29 and 22 can’t be finished. My bets my 22 will be junked somewhere in Mexico with another apology from GM.

I can’t imagine the harm being done to these trucks sitting in the hot sun all summer in Mexico. Can’t be good for paint, rubber, vinals, or leather. My dealer thinks gm will eventually dump all these vehicles onto the dealers to sell however they can. I know now the Equinox’s are being shipped to the dealers without inner fenders installed with a sale hold on them until they get the parts to finish building. Dealers are not happy about this at all. That will make corporate gm look good because they can claim they are moving vehicles to the dealers and the holding pastures will empty out.

I built a 23 Denali sierra 2500 hd and placed my order late June 2022 and was originally told I’d have a 10 month wait. Was informed that production started Aug 29th. Just got the call yesterday I can expect delivery Sept 27th. It happened almost too fast as I was hoping to have a bit more for the down payment. But from hearing your stories I feel I’d better suck up the huge payment and be happy.

As of Sept,30 My truck still has not shipped from Mexico the order status has not changed. It’s still missing parts and has not moved. I was told earlier that it takes three weeks to deliver a truck to Northern NJ. As of today I will be looking at an October 23 delivery date. The regional manager that my dealer talks to promised an October delivery. Hope is fleeting, I think if this is a no show by December I will go and custom order a Ford From Neilson Ford in NJ. How long is an acceptable time? Remember my vehicle was ordered Nov 26th 2021 and built in May. The dealer has some low option trucks from Mexico sitting on the lot built after mine, I’m just not into a truck with a 4 cylinder engine and window cranks.. GM Fails big time…Ron

My order for a 2022 GMC Elevation Crew Cab was submitted and approved around 04/11/2022. The truck as per my dealer was produced in late June 2022. The vehicle is still in Mexico and my dealer just told me that it is currently on a “Quality Control Hold” and likely because it needs a chip. They cannot give me an ETA on shipping. How long will the truck be left in Mexico on a QC Hold? This whole process is crazy and my current 2019 Silverado is just depreciation as I could have gotten $4000 in equity on top of the lease end buyout price. I have had to extend my lease in order to wait for this vehicle. The Chevy dealer is now pressuring me to take a vehicle off their lot which are low trim levels and do not have any of the options and packages I ordered on my GMC.

I ordered my truck in November, it was built in April, I figured it would be around for the summer when I ordered it early. We had a bunch of Kayak trips planned and wound-up renting a Ford F-150 three times for our get aways. I don’t even want to mention what that cost. I coined the phrase Buy a GMC rent a Ford, still to this day my truck really is sitting in Sialo Mexico unfinished (I have a Vin number). If you ordered a low option truck built in the US, you may get one. Updates by GM have been nonexistent don’t even waste your time calling GM, and your dealer will get no information either. You might get an EV vehicle sooner. Good Luck, Ron

I ordered a 2023 GMC Sierra Denali with 3.0 diesel on July 8, 2022. I received some promising news today October 4, 2022 from my sales manager. My 2023 Sierra Denali has been produced and waiting to be shipped. The current status 3800. I verified with the online rep on GMC.com. Once they receive your order number they can give you a status update.

I ordered a 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali in April and got “rolled” to a 2023 in July. Got word that my code was 3400 last week and expect the word that the truck has been produced and a 3800 code with VIN. Don’t have any idea when it will be shipped and don’t have a clue if it is a Mex or Indiana truck. I suppose it will continue to be a surprise until the VIN is revealed. I’m leery of the transport time issue and the “sit in factory parking lot issue”…..we’ll just have to see….

I hate to sound callus but hearing all the complaints on here about folks waiting three, six, twelve, or more months for a truck. You are not special or singled out more than anyone else. Try waiting 15 months, three orders, and two model years! Many of us have and eventually did get our trucks. If anyone thinks going to Ford or Dodge will be faster give it a whirl. Yes it is a sad situation and if only it hadn’t happened but it did and not getting to run down to your local dealers lot and pick out a truck from 50 or a 100 to choose from is NOT a life or death situation. So many things in life are so much more important and critical than getting a new truck, health and family come to mind. As hard as it may be everyone needs to either be patient or move on, it is just a material thing in life and life can go on without it.

      pmanchester,
Oh but you do ring that sound of callus..
I do agree its not the end of the world and life goes on.
as an older adult that lives in rural Maine a truck is part of life! Not just a pretty toy to gaulk at…A tool to maneuver with it is.. So you make a decision to purchase an expensive vehical just maybe you would like it the way you want it !
So here is my story I go to my friendly dealership and look. nothing literally! The friendly dealer says i have what you may need coming in around December of 21.
You say ok see ya then. Great dealer good friend !
You don’t realize the true state of affairs with the auto industry. You sell your only truck and low in behold nothing. so many months go by still nothing No word no reason just nothing! Now pulling a trailer , vacations, Emergency use in deep snow nothing. No word of any kind from GM nothing! So your dealer orders another for you and after several months nothing . Couldn’t haul tools or materials for your garage project. No big deal put of till next year. Sping turkey hunt don’t want to put the turkey in the trunk of the car..no big deal put of till fall . Summer arives kayaking trips up north. No big deal. Maybe next year.. Still nothing so was told they decided for you (GM) wasn’t going to build. So you order another one.. So more months go buy and do to constraints it can’t be built . Now what? lol you can’t have what you want! so just buy what they have lol Nothing! So you see one in transit and you ask. Is it already sold they stated no it’s yours if you like..Lol i say yes ill take it… Months go by the truck is stuck in Mexico..lol. The dealer feels bad but there not going to let you borrow one..lol GM don’t care you can’t even contact anyone from GM they hide behind a bunch of barriers..Don’t want to explain a reason. No waiting for something with no investment no problem but prepaid thats a problem.
      Pathetic is the whole industry.
Greed , excuses, Lies, lack of empathy !
The truck has risen 8.3 persent already !
      Lol. who cares …lol !!!!!
I feel all the pain for what ever the reason.
You work hard for your money you should be able to get what you want ! This is America yes America !
The greatest country in the word..!
And you say get a life.!
Go f youraelf or move to a foreign land were nothing matters….!!!!

I don’t think any LZ0s have been delivered yet. If you go to GMC’s website, the 2023 GMC Sierra page, then click “View Inventory” you can filter by powertrain. Put in your zip code, set the radius to 2000 miles, and tick “3.0L Duramax” under powertrain, and it’ll show a bunch “in transit” but nothing on lots yet.

Anybody had success getting trailering mirrors lately? I ordered a 2023 LTZ LZ0 2 weeks ago. The build just got kicked back due to the trailering mirrors being “unbuildable”. I’m bummed but I guess that’s the world we are (still) in. The tiny side mirrors just look dumb, and I can’t see much when pulling my boat on my 2021. Per my dealer they likely can’t upgrade the mirrors later due to the cameras.

dsbjax…I would double check with your dealer and ask them to go over the latest order summary they have. I have a ’23 1500 AT4 on order; sometime just before the production week, the 20″ wheels apparently went on constraint, and my dealer can figure is that when GM edited the order to change to the 18″ wheel, they somehow reset the order to the standard starting point or something. Never have confirmed what happened, but the result was that my Dynamic Blue AT4 with 6.2L order now was showing Black AT4 with 3.0 Diesel! I had to start over with a new order and the build week is two months later than planned now!

It is on a train between here and Ft Wayne on a train….I’m confident in the LZ0 engine….diesel is high, but 25 MPG or more is a great number for a truck this size. I test drove last year’s and was very happy with the power. The gas engines in my opinion are not the best pick but the truck drives ok with them too. The 6.2 is VERY thirsty…..My opinions….

I ordered a 23 Silverado 1500 RST in Radiant red on 8/8. Order accepted the week of 10/24 & has a TPW of 11/12. The dealer thinks it should be delivered within a few weeks. Maybe I’ll have it by Christmas. I’ll update when it comes in.

My 2500 I ordered in June and the order still has not been accepted by GM. Just found a Ram 2500 on the lot 270 miles from home, looks like a road trip this weekend and canceling the order on Monday. At this point I just don’t think they are going to build it anytime soon.

@zxrj1 Status 3400 is – Order broadcasted (in the assembly plant production system), build process is underway and locked in sequence to the end of the line. Good luck.

My 22 turned 23 Denali Ultimate order was finally built in late August. Meanwhile, it sits in status 4D00 “Bayed for Quality Control (unknown time period)” ever since. My dealer has even requested a “hot sold escalation” to release it to bailment and get it invoiced & shipped. At this point, I’d be surprised if it is delivered before June 23. <insert eye rolling>

I also ordered a 2023 Denali with 3.0 on July 8th and it has slowly moved along. October 4th it has been at 3800 and so far has not changed. I get a status update from GM weekly which states they are doing quality checks…Hopefully it gets moving toward transport soon.

Yes- Press them if they wont tell you the order status (code). Also ensure that they give you a copy of the order that shows the order number. Make sure that they have ordered it as a sold order and not a “for dealer stock”….makes a difference as to whether they can jack the price above MSRP. That needs to be on the order when it is built….

That has to be frustrating. Talk about a screwed up transportation system. My truck was built O/A 7 Oct at the Ft Wayne plant and then sat on the ramp for 10 days waiting for a train, The train found it’s way here (San Antonio) on Wednesday 16 Nov and was promptly downloaded to holding yard. My salesman proudly informed me of this fact and said it would probably make it to the dealer (15.3 miles away) by next “Monday or Tuesday” and then we need a day to PDI… When I complained that it was not acceptable to wait another week (which puts us after Thanksgiving) I got a non-committal “well they have a lot of cars to move”…..

GM system is broken. I intend to have a long conversation with the dealership owner when this is over,….

So true….but I need a trailer tow vehicle and this one is the best available half-ton out there…..But it doesn’t keep me from being pissed.

I was one of the people who had to involuntarily roll to a 2023 (and the higher prices) and who had one of the “reservations”…. So they sent m one of those rebate certificates.

My dealer “promised” me several times that MSRP was the price, but since then they have been marking the trucks up $4000. Will be interesting whether they have the balls to mark the truck up (essentially cancelling the rebate)….

        More to follow…..

Wel as of the 17th when I called GM and the dealer also called GM, we were told my Sierra was pulled out due to a missing check engine light chip and the horn does not work. My Sierra was completed April 2nd, and both the dealer and I were told it’s just held up for shipping on August 26th, keep in mind I ordered it a year ago. The lady on the GM line said I should just order a 23 and when I told her the exact same truck in a 23 was $8,300 more she said oh wow. I was also told the check engine light chip will be about 2 months to get and with 21 days to ship to the northeast that puts me into February 2023, and I ordered this thing November 21,2021. Folks you just can’t make this up. Tony I was told it take 21 days to get from Mexico to NJ, you are right it goes rail to a port in Mexico then boat to Davis Ville Rhode Island, then trucked to NJ. Good luck to anyone that doesn’t buy an off the lot or dealer preordered truck.

My truck is still in Mexico as of this morning verified, but they have no Idea if it was in the shipping or Bayed lot. Looks like a next year delivery with the Holiday Season about here. I am just about ready to give up, I ordered this Potential POS November 21,2021. The truck did not pass final inspection on November17,2022 and was pulled in for servicing due to a check engine light chip failure and no horn installed. The GM rep swore to the sales manger the truck is totally finished. I don’t believe it there was nothing in writing from either. I give up

My truck was built at Ft Wayne on 7 Oct 2022 and left the yard by train on 17 Oct 2022. It arrived at the San Antonio rail head on 16 Nov and was off loaded to the holding yard that afternoon. It was delivered to my dealership (a 15.3 mile journey!) on 23 Nov. Since Thanksgiving was the next day it was readied for my pickup this morning. I drove it home this afternoon and it is unbelievable. Diesel is smooth and powerful and is getting around 24 MPG right off the bat. Not pleased with the whole ordering and delivery part but so far I love the truck.

My truck is still in Mexico with no shipping date as of Friday apparently it has been Factory Repaired. November 21st was a year now into this. I did push the dealer for a price in case it shows this year. The truck is over $5,300 more than quoted in November when we built it. They will not hold to the price protection because the person who built it in the dealer assigned it to dealer stock, I wish I knew that, So the pricing I got is of November 21st, 2022, minus the mandatory ONSTAR $905 for the Denali. The sales manager actually blew me off when I asked for the price and told me it was more important to get the truck first than price it. Time to leave GMC in Budd Lake and move on. What a ride, I am happy for whoever received their trucks. Enjoy them!!!!

Here’s the timeline of my order for a 2023 Sierra 1500 Denali with a standard box and Technology package. I wanted to add supercruise but got rejected and forced to add sun roof as Denali trim.

Aug 30: Ordered in a local dealership and early traded in my 2019 silverado as a deposit.

Nov 10: Received an email from GMC that the order is accepted for production.

      Nov 24: Scheduled for production.

Dec 5: The vehicle has been built and waiting for shipment.

It’s faster than I expected. I don’t know when it’s gonna arrive and the dealer said it might be late December or January. I thought it might be delivered in February so I could have a lower amount of auto loan.

Wish there will be some incentives and low-interest rates in January.

I haven’t received any information, such as VIN or window sticker, so I don’t know where it was built. I saw most trucks with crew cab+standard box were built in Fort Wayne. GMC customer service told me the standard shipping time could be 3-5 weeks but could be up to 8-12 weeks, depending on the location of plant and method of transit.

I ordered a 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate in mid-Feb 2022. In early July my dealer reentered it as a 2023. In mid August, GM accepted the order. I checked the status a couple times a week, and it kept showing “accepted … moving toward the production process”. Then suddenly in late October it said the “vehicle has been produced”. I thought it was odd it would go from “accepted” to “built” within a couple days (I thought there were some steps in between). But, I’m not complaining. Finally picked it up in mid-November. Was built in Ft Wayne and only had to go to Chicago.

@Ninja_Johnny I had planned on my next truck being a Sierra for awhile, I was hoping it would be built in Oshawa when GM announced they would be producing trucks there again. Unfortunately, only Silverados ended up being built there.

      @MarkH
Sounds similar to mine – I had a ‘Targeted build week’ of Nov. 14, on Nov. 9 my dealer informed me it was already in Buffalo, NY. Think they’re a little ahead of schedule, which is nice after all the delays.

My story is a little different. Most of the dates are similar, but my truck was showing as built in October, then I was told it was waiting for transport. Then I was told it was at the port. I just went to the dealership to find exactly where this truck is, and on VinView and it shows my truck is still sitting in the shipyard at the Silao Plant…It hasn’t moved at all.

@markh – similar experience here on my AT4 coming from Ft Wayne. Build date was Nov 28th, as of Nov 21st, it was complete and in an overflow lot awaiting dispatch to a train coming to Ontario, Canada. Still shows that status, but my dealer told me about a recent case where he saw the same status and the truck was on the next day’s delivery at the dealership! So, apparently, system updates on status not keeping up with actual status. I don’t begrudge GM over that…in my business, we’ve been living with sketchy transportation information for the last 18 months!

ygymagic, I have to agree with the replies you have received regarding buying off the lots. Maybe it is different where you live but dealers here either have sold units or bare bones trucks most with the four banger. Like most here when I ordered my truck I had certain specs and options I wanted as well as powertrain. Could not come close with anything in local inventory, believe me I looked. Even found one over 500 miles away that was near what I wanted and since I didn’t want to leave my local dealer I actually offered them $500 cash to release the truck to my dealer and they refused. I ended up waiting 15 months, two model years, and three attempts before getting an allocation for what I wanted.

Wow I really regret ordering my 2022 Denali, the crap that GM is putting me through on something I ordered as a gift for myself a year ago is not worth it. My dealer in Budd Lake in NJ was great in the beginning of this but now is waning on communication and the sales manager is feeding me misinformation. It’s going to be time to move on, the dealership I am dealing with is nothing special, and I can say that I purchased a New Cadillac from them March 2022 and as of now I don’t feel like they really care if I come back. This was a result of the sales manager cutting me off on a phone call, funny thing about it he called me. The owner of the place even told me he was my new sales consultant, LOL he does not call back. I’m going to buy a truck this year 2023 but, on my terms, now. I almost feel guilty when I see some of these posts. I saw my dealer late in July, and we discussed what I wanted. My understanding is he put in an order at the time that didn’t have any constraints, so we could get queued up. On Sept. 28, we updated the order to be exactly like I wanted (LZ0, NHT, spray-in bedliner). We also removed the multi-pro tailgate as it was under constraint. My order was accepted, built in early November, and I had my truck by Nov 28. 4 months, start to finish.

Day after Christmas, and still no truck. At this point I will not receive my truck before the $3000 offer expires… My question is, Has anyone who ordered a Regular Cab 2022, and had to switch to a 23 received their truck yet? My dealership has had three deliveries, and they were all crew cabs $51k and up. They just got a delivery of a Trail Boss and the window sticker on that one was $61,790… Built after mine, and my truck is still showing that it is still at the plant in Silao… This is very frustrating.

Join the crowd tony, my truck was built April 2, 2022. I was told expect a possible February delivery. The GM regional rep was supposed to call me a few days before the Holiday as I was told by Johnson GMC in Budd Lake NJ. I have not heard from him as of yet. I do not have my hopes up reason being the way GM has treated me. You think the dealer would handle this? Looks like it’s too hard for the dealer to back a customer. My 2022 Denali is still in Silao, I’m betting it got Damaged in those Hailstorms this summer in a storage lot. If you set your sights low and learn how to embrace the suck it may help with the wait. It is very comical watching the dealer have to jump through the hoops and defend GM. It’s a supply change issue. Will i ever get the truck I ordered? NO way, kiss that 3,000 goodbye unless you fight them for it.

Tony, I was told by my dealership in Budd Lake NJ last week that a Reginal GM rep would be calling me in a couple of days to get this squared away and answer any questions I may have. This has been a year and a half. It’s been well over a week and no phone calls. I tried emailing the manager of the Silao plant using one of Y tube videos. No answer from Mexico, no call from the regional Rep. basically a big FU from GM. Funny I have nor received any emails or correspondence from GM with any offers of discounts. GM actually has the 100 dollars I put down in October for a position to order a truck. Imagine if you did your Job the way GM is doing theirs?

Ron, Jason and I were in contact with GM today about your vehicle. We explained that you are a loyal customer, but a year and a half was more than enough to wait for a truck and hear from us that we are not able to help you. Today we were told the goal was to have the vehicle delivered sometime in February. Ricky Brown GM district manager will call you in the next few days and go over any questions you may have. I will call you later today. Thank you for your patience.

This was the email I did receive from the Dealer, That is the name of the area rep.

Here are my thoughts on GM.. I ordered a GMC SLT 1500 Sterling Metallic on Oct 7, 2022, i received it on Dec 17, 2022. The dealer ordered it as retail stock. I think that is why it came in so quick.. He said if he would have ordered it as a sold truck it would have taken a while longer. GM is sending out the retail stock before the sold trucks. Mine had the 6.2L in it also. The bad thing about ordering it as retail stock is there is no price lock. There was a price increase but my Dealer made it right. My dealer treated me good.

yes I ordered truck on Oct 7, Accepted by production on Oct 11, scheduled for production 10/21,broadcast on 11/7, Built on 11/21.

Built in Mexico.. but did not have wireless charging..

I wonder if the wireless charging will be retrofit.

Well as of today I have not heard from Ricky Brown from GM. I was told that the truck was in Mexico by a GM rep on the Phone and then later the truck maybe in NJ for shipping. Just sounds kind of odd because my dealer says the truck shows it vacationing still in Mexico. I guess I should have ordered a RIO Grand edition then maybe it could have made it’s own way here. I am at a loss right now. I went online today with the virtual assistant and it says we will be back on WEDNESDAY Dec.31,1969. GM is really messed up. I can’t make this up.

I called GM today to verify that my truck was indeed in Mexico not in NJ as I was told yesterday. I was outright told they elevated my claim again and a Supervisor would call me by business close today. Well guess what no phone call at all. The area GM rep that promised to call me in a couple of days on DEC 20,2022 has not reached out also. Very disappointing to say the least. This just goes to show you how GM really cares about their customers. What a disgrace the company managers are. Sorry just venting, I have now lost confidence in my dealership also.

I ordered this truck November 2022 after in October putting down 100$ to hold a position for one. The build was accepted December 20th, 2022. The truck was built in April, and it still sits in Silao as of today. Can you actually believe what GM is doing to its customers?
      And this forum supports GM.

Just got a call today from a after sales supervisor and I told her my long story. She was very nice and seemed receptive. She told me once again that the truck is in NJ. I told her yesterday that the dealer checked and is Mexico. I told her I should have ordered the boarder Jumper edition maybe I should have had it by now. Funny now that I gone from a little Angy about this to finding GM’s lack or tracking technology very humorous. I noted that the area rep has been dodging responsibility to customers. It is in writing. Basically, there is nothing the dealer can do to overcome GM’s lack of performance and they don’t give a damn about improving it. My opinion only since this adventure started in July of 2021 with Johnson GMC in Budd Lake NJ. Funny the owner of the dealership said he was my personal salesman and I have only heard from him once. So, order a 23 now or move on? Sucks the 22 is just the way I want it and it is in GM self-made Limbo. Has anyone seen Ricky Brown the NE Rep?

maxepr, can your dealer not track you truck using Vinview?? He should be able to. Mine was tracked almost hourly from the time it loaded onto the train in Ft. Wayne until my dealer picked it up in Selkirk, NY. Every stop the train made was shown and updated daily. I do understand your wanting this truck since it is ordered the way you wanted it but you also need to go over it with a fine tooth comb before accepting. Has there been any discussions about discounts and such? As long as it sat or is sitting in Mexico I would be concerned about the sun bake. Good luck, hope you find resolution soon.

I ordered a Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 in radiant red the first week of August. order was accepted the end of October & built the week of 11/14 in Ft Wayne. It arrived at the dealer on 12/30 & I picked it up that afternoon. So 1 week short of 5 months.

I ordered this to replace a 14 Silverado that was problem free for 9 years other than the 8 speed transmission. Which was clunky, jerky & very annoying. The new 10 speed trans shifts smooth as butter, just as you would expect it should. The electronics are a little overwhelming, but I’ll sort that out over time.

Good luck to those still waiting. You’re going to love your new truck when it finally arrives.

Anyone seeing shipping delays out of Fort Wayne? I ordered a 2023 GMC AT4 with the 3.0. Order got pulled Sept. 2, Build week of Oct. 3, and was completed by Oct. 7. I was told it is sitting in an overflow yard in Fort Wayne waiting on a train. It’s been completed for 3 months now. Seems a little ridiculous. I even asked the dealer if I could pick it up in Fort Wayne myself, however they said that was not possible because of legality issues. Also, I asked my dealer about extending the $3,000 rebate offer and they said they could extend it for 6 months. We will see….

I think I will do some research on the 1794 Edition Toyota They are made in Texas. I did price out a Ford King Ranch Hybrid a bit ago. I went to a GM for something different, and boy it has been different. I found this whole thing to be insulting and to tell you the truth there is a disconnect between GM and the customers out of shear arrogance on GM’s part. Yesterday I secured a used 22 Denali Limited as a stop gap as I have rented trucks to many times this summer at my expense. Oh well lesson learned with dealing with GM they just could care less. The truck will get there when it happens along, do not for one second think anyone from GM will make it happen for you, trust me I have seen it for myself the last year and a half. Peace out Ron

Hey all, when is GM going to start building 2023 Danali’s Dealer? The Dealer Here in Peoria AZ. doesn’t seem to care about customers that have put down $$ on a presold Truck. Say we are to help with no follow through, we will call you and all you get is crickets. Ordered a Danali Ultimate Nov 1st and nothing from the Dealer. They tell me I’m stuck in the #3000 and order has been
excepted. You have to go back to the dealer to try and get information and only 1 guy has the ability to answer those questions. So, it appears everyone is stuck in limbo here and no one can get any answers. How in the world do you run a company like that the taxpayers bailed out. If I would run my company like that, I wouldn’t have any business. Ford and Ram don’t seem to have those problems plenty of trucks to choose from. GM needs to get of their Butts and start taking care of their customers. This is my 15th GM product and probably my last. Thanks for letting me rant………..

@tatortot563, similar situation for me. AT4 with 6.2 built since Nov 21st and waiting in overflow lot in IN for a train since. Dealer had original ETA of Jan 3rd, as that is when they were going to start charging the dealer interest. No sign of movement yet, and of course no estimate on timeline provided by GM when I chatted online with them. Mine is delivering to southern Ontario, so no idea if needing a train that crosses the border presents more issues/delays or not. My dealer said he had one a little while ago that showed the same status (waiting in overflow) one day and it magically appeared on his lot the next day! Can’t trust any information on order status apparently.

@NathanK…I checked with GM online chat this week just for fun. Exact same response as previous inquiries: “I have located your order and can see that your vehicle has been produced and, pending some final testing and approvals, will be ready for final shipment. I recommend that you reach out to your dealership for further information on shipment, delivery, and timing. GM is aware of the delays in shipping and is working with our Carriers in an effort to get the orders shipped as quickly as possible, there are many reasons for delays that are beyond GM’s control, and we do apologize for the delay and are working diligently in an effort to ensure all vehicles are shipped as quickly as possible to our dealerships for delivery to our valued customers.”
My dealer actually is more specific…it’s complete, ready to ship (so no more testing and approvals). Of course dealers are as in the dark as we are about when trucks will get on a train. It baffles me that GM refers customers to dealers for transportation information…they’re not the ones coordinating with carriers to ship vehicles out. Very frustrating to say the least. Waiting for a train 8 weeks now, and counting!

3800 is built with vin but is now at the mercy of transportation. I’ve seen trucks ship out within weeks and I also have seen trucks sit for several months. Just research “mazxepr” posts in this thread. He ordered a year ago last November, truck built in I think April but truck to this day is believed to be sitting in the sun in Mexico. My personal experience, truck built in early May and took delivery mid June. Built in Ft. Wayne. Don’t fall for whatever chat or dealer tells you because they will tell you anything to get you gone off their backs. I’ve seen guys be told their truck wasn’t built yet and then miraculously show up on the dealers lot the next day. They have no idea.

I finally gave up on my 22 Denali I ordered in November of 2021. The Northeast Rep for GM made no attempt to rectify the situation I was in with any type of compensation to stay with the truck I ordered. He did find me the same truck and the dealer was able to work out a trade last week, but it was not guaranteed to be mine it is supposed to arrive in Maryland. The GM area rep was always unprepared when I spoke to him and quite frankly, I really think he didn’t care what I went through. Be careful if you think GM will take care of you. I didn’t happen with me. I did buy a used 2022 Limited from the dealer I was using. It’s the same color Cayenne Red but black interior, not as well equipped but it was spotless. Guys I just gave up i have no trust in GM at all. I won’t be taking the truck that has been sitting in Mexico missing chips since April 2022. To throw salt in a wound as of Monday this week the only Notification I got from Gm the last year in a half is that the truck has moved from the factory and is being Moved for shipping. I just can’t make this up. I did get the used truck factory certified used, additional year bumper to bumper plus 12,000 miles and 100k powertrain for 6 years. I am happy but also disappointed. The truck only had 4,000 miles on it. Good luck to everyone!!! So, the cancelled truck moved out of the factory 01/16/23 and it was built. 4/28/22 when will it get to the dealer in NJ ??? I will let you know if I go see it, I know the dealership does not want it. Peace Ron

I ordered a 23 Sierra Denali 1500 on Oct.15, they accepted it Nov. 1 for production, it was built Dec. 2, shipped by rail from Mexico to Flint, MI. Delivered to my dealer by truck 100 miles on Jan. 9. I took delivery Jan 13. Every option came through perfect. Beautiful truck in Cayenne Red. 87 days total. I know Cayenne is not supposed to be a 23 color, but that’s what came through. Cayenne and Volcanic red is so close I wonder if its just a name change for 23 or they still have leftover Cayenne paint in Mexico. Good experience for me compared to a lot of people.

I’ve been waiting over 2 months for GM to accept the order on my LTZ. Heard from my dealer that GM is ceasing production of the 3.0 Duramax(LZ0) with the Max Trailering package(NHT). No idea if this is just for the remainder of 2023 production or if this will be a permanent change. Guess I”ll wait and see about a 2024.

2 months is nothing when it comes to waiting for an allotment to open up, I waited 12 months, two model years, and three modifications to order. As for certain options not being available, that can change every two weeks. Dealers get their allotments and constraints every two weeks and it is ever changing. As for the trailer tow package that could be back in two weeks or not at all, it is all a huge crap shoot. At the time my dealer finally got an allotment for my truck I wanted a high country but could not get the tech package on that but was able to go with an LTZ and get the tech along with everything else I would have gotten on the HC. Took delivery finally in June of this year and couldn’t be happier. I have the 3.0 with trailer tow along with all the tech available. 10K miles and 0 problems so far. When you do get yours I am sure you will be very happy with it, hang in there, don’t get discouraged.

Normally I wouldn’t worry about it. I know constraints are constantly changing. But my dealer said this wasn’t like the usual constraints. He said it was worded differently. Like “no longer producing”, or “ceasing production” of NHT with LZ0. He’s been at this a long time, so if he tells me it’s not the normal constraint, I tend to believe him. I just can’t imagine this is a permanent change, diesels are great for towing. That’s why I figure maybe it is just for the rest of 2023MY. Just trying to see if anybody else hears of this.

I am really surprised by this and I am sure your dealer knows better than any of us what this might mean but wow. Considering the tow package among other things consists of a heavier rear end, larger brakes, beefed up cooling system, and changes in the shift patterns. I can’t believe this would all of a sudden just be discontinued especially since it was only with the 22 refreshed did it become available. After upping the torque and hp with the LZO it makes no sense to not continue. It has to be temporary, but how long who knows. I tow my 30 ft. camper dry weight of 7000 lbs. with no problems whatsoever and have the LM2. Good luck and keep us informed as you learn more. I will also ask my dealer if he has run into this as well.

No offence, but I think that dealer is full of it. The GM Fleet Order Guide is my go-to for info on constraints. Pick the model, then go to Distribution Updates, and you can get a list of weekly changes to the order guide. There are no mentions of NHT availability changes for the Silverado OR Sierra with LZ0. Also, if you navigate to the Mechanical section and find the NHT Package it explicitly states it IS available with the LZ0.

In my experience, GM keeps this documentation up to date, with weekly changes if required.

If they keep to this new delivery date, that will make 5 months of just sitting for no reason at all in shipyards. 2 1/2 months in Mexico and 2 1/2 months at the shipyard in Louisiana… I don’t get it.

Ordered a 2023 Danali ultimate Nov 1st. Still stuck in GM order 3300. Dealer in Az. cannot explain why. It’s been 4 months and no information. Thinking about just getting anther manufactures truck, it’s not worth the wait an all the BS. When you read all the news that GM posts on this site it makes you wonder how great it is and all the money, they are spending to make GM better. But you can even get a truck built in a reasonable amount of time that cost over 87k. I like Gm products and have purchased many units from them, but this is ridicules. GM should at least let the consumer know what is going on in the build process, instead they put out all the BS on how wonderful the company is doing. The average sale per unit and sold out in some countries and so on, do you think they could build units on time? Thaks for listening to my frustration and my rant. Almost ready to give up on GM.

@Peter9525 I don’t know if it’s the best way, but I use https://www.gmfleetorderguide.com/dmdindex.htm. Select the Year in the left column, then “Ordering Information” in the right column. On the next page, click on the Brand (ie: Chevy Truck, GMC). On the next page, select the Model from the drop-down menu in the upper right. Click “Distribution Updates” then “Full model year” in the popup. It’ll give you a week-by-week list of updates to the guide.

The other thing you can do is from the page before the pop-up, go through the categories to find a feature (for example, the Max Tow package can be found under Mechanical). The third column will have some notes with a number preceding them, any constraints should be listed there.

It’s not the easiest thing to sort out, it involves a bunch of manual investigation, and isn’t a guarantee.

I wonder about your dealer, though – they should be able to tell you why the order is stuck. When I ordered my truck, my dealer told me what constraints were holding it up, and we adjusted the order to compensate (we removed the multi-pro tailgate, which is on constraint for SLT and below models).

        @pygmySurfer,
        You are correct.
When I made my order, dealer asked me for my built. A few minutes later, they said only Bed cover is under constraint for my order and suggested to remove it.
Dealers should review their customer’s order.
