My 2023 Colorado LT with only 3k miles has a low engine whine at low speed. Took it the dealer and was told this is normal turbo sound? anyone else have this. Truck runs fine and no codes.
my 2023 Colorado when accelerating you can hear a very low what I call a turbo whistle hard to hear if not paying attention. That said my truck has the gm noise canceling system, might be louder if it didn’t have that.
Thank you for the reply. I do not have noise canceling so Im not sure. Anyone else have a whine or siren type noise?
Hello,
I have the same issue on my 2023 Colorado. Did you ever find out what the noise was?
Most definately turbo whine, completely normal.
Following up. This is not a turbo whistle its a whine. The dealer has now acknowledged that they are two seperate types of noises. I drove on purpose a new one from the lot to prove its not “normal” with them in the vehicle. Finally Ive been given some answers but not a solution yet. The Siverados with the same engine have the same whine and they have determined it to be from “balancing gears” which make an “annoying whine” per GM. they said wait to 10K and usually it goes away but “that its normal on 2.7L” and that they will soon have “a response”. Make sure to have it documented and — dont let them tell you its the turbo. You can find articles about the balancing gears. Hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.
