I ordered a Chevy Silverado in April of 2022 & it has been built & is setting in storage in Mexico, when should I expect it to leave Mexico for delivery to Norfolk, Va.?

I ordered a Silverado 1500 in April 2022, canceled by GM in July 2022. Ordered a 2023 Silverado 1500 fully equipped with almost all the packages and options in July, built mid October and delivered November 3. The only items from the order were the diesel motor, Z71 4wd and color. None of the other packages or options on the order. I did not purchase it.

It seems by the posts in here that the build and delivery problems are mostly from the trucks built south of the border. There are likely those from stateside and Canada but don’t seem to here of so many. Just curious. Mine went into production in April at the Ft. Wayne plant and was delivered mid June with only park assist missing.

I picked up my ’22 Trail Boss Lt in August. Side sticker shows it was built in Mexico July ’22. There is just no rhyme or reason for all the delays.

Ordered a 2022 Silverado regular cab 5.3 in April 2022. Had to change it to a 2023 in July. Truck was built October 18, 2022 in Silao Mexico, and has showed as “In the shipyard waiting for transit” ever since…

I don’t understand how this is a viable business model. If you can’t deliver the truck as ordered let the buyer know.

Are there any dealers on this site that can estimate the build/delivery time of a ’23 Trail Boss if ordered now?

InTheRough, please ask “Chevy112”. This dealer is awesome.

I ordered a 23 Silverado Crew WT on 12/6/22. No options other than the 5.3 and 4WD. It was built in Silao on 2/3/23 and its currently at a 4300 status code….

      I feel your pain…

My SIlverado RST was built on May 26, 2022 in Ft Wayne. There it still sits on micro-processor hold. Today is Feb 25, 2023. Nine months of event code 4D00 – awaiting parts. I consider everyday about buying another brand, but the RST is the exact truck I’m interested in.

I know that the day I purchase another brand, I’ll get a call from the Chevy dealer saying your truck arrived today unexpectedly.

So I wait along with many others.

      Good luck!

Cessna172…. I also feel Your pain… I’m on the same sinking ship…. Denali built May 28th in Ft. Wayne 4D00 ever since….Getting the dealer stock 4 bangers delivered seems to be their priority

Wesink, I’ve had my eye on another V8 RST at a different dealer only 30 serial numbers away from mine. That truck went to 4B00 last week as it was moved from Oxford street to the Montrose St shipping yard.

      Perhaps there is some hope.

I wonder if it will still have that “new car smell”.

Cessna172 maybe there is light at the end of your dark tunnel. The new car smell may have a little stale scent to it lol. My last six are 544519… There is always hope I suppose.

      Wesink,

My last six is 544059. The 544 series seems to be the ones still lingering, waiting to ship. The other truck I was looking at that just showed some movement is also a 544.

Cessna172…. I think you solved the mystery but on a good note my truck was invoiced on 01/17/23 and the Certificate of Origin was produced on 01/30/2023…. Just crawling ever so slowly to the finish line…. But still coded at 4D00

Wensink… Well, holy blessed mother of surprises! My dealer called yesterday and we have an ETA! 3/30/23
Will it arrive on 3/30, probably not; but, it is finally out of 4D00.

Hope you hear some good news soon.

Cessna172… Great news !… Out of 4D00 means it’s finally out of Purgatory… Now let’s see how well the 3rd party shipper does it’s job.

InTheRough, I was told 6-12 weeks on a Trail Boss depending on what options you chose. I ordered mine 10/27/22 & GM accepted the order 12/20/22. If we go by the GM acceptance date, I’m in the 10th week of waiting. My truck is built, just waiting to be loaded onto the train. I ordered the 5.3L LT, premium package, dark essentials & multi-flex tailgate in summit white.

Just heard from my dealer – the delivery date for my RST has been moved up to 3/21. It is now located only 50 miles from me. It’s been a long ten months…

Cessna172… My Denali delivery date is 3/23 but I’ll believe it when our trucks actually show up… It has also been a very long (14 months ordered 10 months produced ) Wait…

Wensink – I guess time (money was probably another factor) was the great motivator to finally get these 2022 vehicles shipped to customers.
Great to hear your Denali is on its way!
