I have a 2022 Silverado with subscription to onstar and unlimited data, Cannot connect to anything other than Google and onstar and If I try for instance connecting to this site I get message saying no internet. Have contacted onstar several times but has been useless. Anyone here have similar problems?

If you have the “refreshed” radio, GM and Onstar only provide free internet for 30 days. They want you to purchase a “data plan” that costs $25 a month. Noone told us about this when we picked up our new truck and when we called Onstar because our navigation did not work they didn’t know either. I did some research online and found that indeed you only receive 30 days of free data after that you have to pay a monthly cost. Frustrating because there are many features that don’t work as a result of this and you would think GM would do a little better for their customers. I have a 2017 and 2014 Chevrolet and both still have a data plan. The other sad thing is that most employees at Onstar have no clue what you are talking about. I believe you can opt to buy a subscription and receive 3 months free, but you have to provide Onstar with your Credit Card number to do this. We did not renew our data plan.

This information doesn’t help my situation because I purchased an unlimited data plan along with the premium onstar plan. The onstar worked and google worked but when it came to just going out on the internet for something unrelated to google, for instance MLB website it would simply say “No internet connection”. I attempted several times to explain this to the donkeys at onstar to no avail. They would send updates and have me turn system off and back on, doing everything aside from going outside the truck and dancing a rain dance. Then they would give up and say they would escalate my case and someone would get back to me, well when they did finally call they had no idea what the problem might be and said they would look into it. Guess they are still looking into it. I got so frustrated and ticked off I told them to cancel everything. Other than google and onstar the only feature I lost is the speed limit indicator in the heads up display. Maybe someday they will get their heads out of their arsses and fix this, until then no subscriptions for me.

I have the same issue. No road speed indication. XM internet channels won’t load, auto time is wrong, my app won’t respond to vehicle either. It shows it last connected to truck 3 weeks ago. Dealership can’t get me in and want me to leave it for a week. I tried to reset electronics by removing battery cables for a few hours but that didn’t correct issue.
I did notice an update attempted but can’t tell if it was successful or not. And it does mention network connectivity.

Perhaps someday the techs at AT&T and or Onstar will figure this out. I complained again and was given a month of unlimited data and yup you guessed it, still no connection to the internet. They can’t get through their thick heads there is a difference between connecting to google and the www. Wifi hotspot means you should be able to connect to the www anywhere you want not just google. Tell me if I am wrong. Until they figure this out I am out of their plans. I can sit in my truck and turn on my data plan in my phone and away I go but turn my phone data off and I am stuck with the simple google data.

I have the same issues with the connectivity through Google. Why should we be required to purchase a Data plane through OnStar (a GM company) and then not be able to download anything unless its on the Google Play Store which doesn’t even have Pandora in it. My dealership gave me some BS that GM was afraid that sites like Pandora might download a virus to the truck. This was total BS from a Pensacola, FL Chevrolet dealership. And as far as using my iPhone to operate the “Google” radio, GM does not pay my phone bill which is through Verizon, not AT&T. Amazingly, Verizon does not work with the OnStar data.
I think a class action law suit is the only way that this corruption will stop!
