ParticipantHello fellow ChevyHeads.
This happened to me yesterday and perusing other Chevy forums it’s a common problem.
But because of these great ChevyHeads they gave me the fix and I’m going to pass it on here, so thanks to those who troubleshot this and found the solution that even A lot of Chevy dealerships don’t know of.THE SCENARIO:
Driving home on I5 south from Seattle I’m in the left most lane. There’s one more lane to the left that is the way to 405, and people use these 2 lanes to cut in and out.
So going about 6 mph 2 cars in the 405 lane decided to cut into our I5 south left lane. My “Crash” icon comes on in the instrument panel with a warning signal, though I was speeding at 6 mph, there was no crash. But then continuing up the hill now at 4mph, the crash icon stayed on. And then when I went to see the status of my “drivers assist” feature, no icon there. Gone, with a message that that feature is not available.
So the lit green car icon, which is the drivers assistance icon is gone, while this CRASH icon is stuck on.
And this morning when starting up the truck it was Still stuck on With no drivers assist available. So at work I started googling and found multiple forums dealing with this. And so after researching further this is the fix.
So again, my vehicle is a 2022 Silverado 1500 RST Crew Standard bed Refresh.
Before that, multiple people who talked to their dealers service center said it was the camera module and they were back ordered 2 months! Then multiple people went to work and came up with this, and again, THANK YOU FOLKS FOR HELPING US OUT!
INSIDE THE TRUCK PASSENGER SIDE there is a Fuse panel on the right side past the instrument panel. The panel is easily accessible with my fingers which pulled out pretty easily.
On That pulled out panel inside cover there is a fuse legend……and Fuse F11 should state something with the word “CAM” Short for camera. THIS IS THE FUSE!
USE THE TOOL SUPPLIED ON THE INSIDE OF THE PANEL, there’s like three fuses in the UPPER LEFT OF THE FUSE PANEL that are in a row, F11 is the SECOND ONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE THREE.
PULL THE FUSE OUT USING THE SUPPLIED FUSE TOOL. IF YOU PULLED THE RIGHT ONE THE DOME LIGHTS WILL GO OUT!
KEEP THE FUSE OUT FOR A FULL MINUTE.
THEN PUSH IT BACK IN USING THE TOOL AND THEN YOUR THUMB.
The dome lights will come back on and when I started the truck, crash icon Gone.So this really just worked for me an hour ago.
No trip to the dealership needed.
And only try this if your confident in doing so.
If not then take it to your dealer and let them deal with it.My best to you all and THANK YOU TO ALL VETERANS INCLUMY DEARLY DEPARTED FATHER, EDWARD J. MASTERS…..
I LOVE YOU DAD!

Participant#reboot – of course.
I was thinking about all the tech in these vehicles lately and wishing they would just hide away a bright red reset button somewhere. There’s just so many things that they can’t possibly model ALL the circumstances a vehicle might encounter in the software. When I first started reading your post I was thinking it was leading to the vehicle steering you into the wrong place at the wrong time. This will be my first vehicle with that tech and an experience in a rental a few years ago spooked me. All because they left too dark an area in the pavement where they sandblasted out a white stripe that had been present during construction. When the vehicle spotted that darker area of the pavement, it started steering and freaked me out.
Excellent post – saving this GEM in my FYI folder. I’m getting a Denali so while the specifics will likely differ, the concept is very likely the same.

ParticipantThe lane assist is defeatable. You can turn it on with a button. It’s a part of the “drivers assist “ feature, but you can turn that part on and off. I leave it off, what remains is the “front scanning” feature that keeps an eye of the vehicle inFRONT of you, whether your approaching it too fast or it’s slowing down while you still going.
It works very well so don’t be put off by the tech. This community is here to help each other with stuff like this.
They really are great vehicles!

ParticipantMake no mistake, I’m looking forward to the tech, insane number of cameras and other goodies. Bought my last car in 2010 (and truck in 1973) so I’m a bit behind. If lane assist keeps me off the rumble strips, that’s cool. I’ve already decided I’ll adopt a pre-flight routine though that disables auto-start/stop 🙂 Although, in some situations it might be useful. Just hard for me to believe that starters are so robust now that the continuous on/off of a 6.2l V8 doesn’t even affect their lifecycle.
