I will be discussing my experience on the 2022 Refresh Gmc Sierra 6.2 fuel economy. I have 1500 miles now on my 2022 Refresh 6.2 Sierra 4×4 and all of this is what I have seen with the built in fuel economy readout around town and/or on the Interstate. Dynamic Fuel Management seems to be helping, but without a way to turn it off at the moment, I can’t prove that.
Interstate @ 70 no AC: 25.7 mpg outside air temp in the low 80’s
Interstate @ 70 w/ AC: 21-22 somewhat better if air temp is below 85
Divided 4 lane @ 60 w/AC: 25.2 mpg outside air temp 92
Around town: 13-16 mpg outside air temp low 90’s.
Right now my 1500 mile overall average is 20.2 which is better than I’d thought would happen.
Running 89 Octane… not as good as 93. 1 tank of 89 and that made the mpg go down.
Owners manual says 91 octane is the minimum. I am sticking with 93 for now.
