Will they ever be able to produce enough Chevy Vans to catchup, i have a Chevy Express 4500 Cutaway ordered at the dealership and they have 40+ vans ordered and 30+ vans in front of me , and supposedly they only are getting 2 2022’s , i am wondering now if i will even get a 2023 ? Anybody else trying to get a Chevy Express Van ?

I ordered a highly optioned cargo van June 18th 2021. Dealer re-ordered it for me, sometime in the fall. I have the vehicle order number, dealer said they have 20 on order and mine is first in line (how true is this, no idea). So far it’s been 9 months and they haven’t had any allocations for vans. I’ve contacted GM by phone, email, talked to several people everyone is just refering me to someone else. I’ve messaged their social media accounts. Only thing I can get is they have checked my order with my vehicle order numer, the order is there but has not been accepted. They tell me to check back in 4-6 weeks. It’s already been 9 months… What is happening. Yet other dealers in my area have been receiving some. I’m in Canada, so that doesn’t help either since GM doesn’t give many allocations to Canada. Their system is rigged. Seem like GM just keeps giving me a big F U every time I try and get somewhere.

Yes that’s what I got with GM too a big run around kinda the same with my dealership a big run around ! I think we will be lucky to even get a 2023 next spring, I think most of the vans are going to the fleets like FedEx problem is they make way more money on trucks than vans so the vans are very limited in production !

The ones I’ve seen show up here to dealers are all customer vans. I’m sure the majority is going to large delivery companies tho. Even tho my dealer said they where not taking fleet orders at the time (apparently only for the month of September they accepted fleet orders). So mine is full price. I think we’ll be lucky to get one by 2025 when they discontinue the current version of the express.

I’m in the same boat. Need an Express due to family out-growing a Suburban. Been looking since August… Dealer kept saying call back later, later, later.

Got them to finally put in an order, but then I learned about allocation… So it’s just been sitting there at ‘not yet accepted by GM’

Yup makes no sense. Especially since vans are arriving here at dealers (just regular dealer inventory). Lots of trucks, SUV’s, cars. But no special order vans.

Small update. Called a local dealer that successfully placed an order and had it accepted right away on a Chevy colorado. Apparently they have 22 vans on order, and all are code 1100 (in the system but waiting to be accepted). Was told they could order a 23 at this time but that’s it. They don’t believe any of their 22 vans on order will get accepted this year, and will be flipped to 23’s. Also said colorado ordering is now impossible to get as well, which I have a hard time believing (they’re everywhere). So fleet ordering opened in September for 1 month, and amazon, enterprise, etc snatched up all vans that where available for the year. Dealer have 7 on the way, all for Amazon and enterprise. Fantastic. Thanks GM. Instead of picking up my 60k special order van, build a bunch of 40k vans instead. I’m sure it’s a very similar situation in the USA as well.

Update…. My order status changed on the Chevrolet.com chat!

It says it is now accepted by GM and moving towards the production process.

I have looked through the ordering guide with all the numbered status codes, but wondering what those will translate to on the automated chat.

I hope this is a good sign for everyone else in this boat.

I don’t want to get my hopes up but keep wondering is it 90 days out if it’s been accepted and I now officially have a place in line?

I’m also in Canada, ordered an extended express in July 21. Still no word from dealer, my sales person told me they had stopped making them for the time being when I last enquired in Nov. I’m not sure I believe that.
How do you use the chat to find out about your status?

That’s great news! Sure hope they send some allocation to Canada to finally accept mine. It’ll be 12 months I’m waiting in a couple weeks.

Just for to the Chevrolet website and start chatting with someone on the chat feature. Give them the info they request to look into your order.
