On my 2022 Chevrolet 2500 HD LT CC LB 4×4 gas 6.6 the leather steering wheel began to degrade and feel rough to the touch after about 7 mo. of owning. As I was waiting for the heated steering wheel retrofit I did not file a formal complaint with my dealer or GM because I was told the wheel will be replaced with the retrofit when I had the truck in for the heated seats retrofit.
The new steering wheel with heat feature was installed in Oct. 23.
Now after only two months the new steering wheel is doing the same thing and beginning to become rough to the feel.
I reported it to the dealer, this week, while having the squealing brake pads replaced. Dealer took pictures and filed warranty claim to GM and GM replied “Not a material or workmanship defect” so will not cover it.
Has anyone else seen this problem and do I have any recourse for pursuing this with GM?
Thanks for any input.
