Love driving my new 2021 Trailblazer with panoramic sunroof. However, bought THIS vehicle because it had option to add crossbars for kayak carrier. Unfortunately, the crossbars are not available yet. Any thoughts?
Big payments with big disappointment. Corporate and dealer swamped so I havent received answer on when crossbars will be available.

Hi @dorisb521
Thanks for the question. I just spent a week with the Trailblazer and loved it myself.
Let me do some research on this and get back to you.

Hello Alex:
I put together the attached document to explain the link I provided in my prior post. Please check it out–I think you will have a better understanding of what my research has turned up.
So in the end–provided you agree with my assessments–perhaps you can find someone who can look up that part number and provide additional information on purchasing from them.
Thank you for your help and support. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Alex:
Thank you so much for responding. Below I’ve tried to explain how I believe Genuine Chevrolet Accessories are distributed/sold in Korea, including links to each page so you can see for yourself. As far as I can tell, official/genuine GM accessories are distributed differently in Korea than in the USA. It appears that back 2010 they chose a distributor to manage the sales of Genuine GM Accessories:
“Korea Spoiler was established in 1989, and developed the first automobile rear spoiler in Korea, taking the first step in the domestic automobile accessory market. Since then, it has pioneered the domestic accessory market by securing more than 80% of the domestic market due to the steady development of related items. After switching to a corporation in August 2002, in November 2005, our company started a new brand accessory business for the branding of (formerly GM Daewoo Auto & Technology) and accessories. Formerly, it was supplied under GM Daewoo Auto & Technology brand. Currently, we have a sales network with around 200 specialty accessories, so you can meet anywhere. In March 2011, GM Daewoo Auto & Technology changed its name to GM Korea Co., Ltd., and Korea Spoiler Co., Ltd., the sole distributor of GM Daewoo Accessories, was also renamed GM Korea Accessories. GM Korea Co., Ltd. and Korea Spoiler Co., Ltd. have not stopped developing new accessories, and are preparing all possible items for new cars. We will endeavor to become the development and supply of scientific automobile accessories, rather than just the role of exterior products, which can be more diverse and advanced in all aspects such as function, design, and convenience, and GM Korea Co., Ltd. We will endeavor to become a Korean GM Chevrolet accessory that can be successful by both Korea Spoiler and Accessory Installer.
Korea Spoiler is with GM Korea Chevrolet.”

If you go to Chevrolet’s official website in Korea, you can see the links they provide for accessories depending on type of accessory. As you can see below there is a link directly to the “Korea Spoiler” website to purchase genuine Chevrolet accessories:
When you get to http://www.spoiler.co.kr, you can see all of the GM accessories with official GM/Chevrolet badging, etc. So I believe that this is in fact the website used in Korea to purchase Genuine GM Accessories—based on the info provided above and the fact that many of these accessories are the same GM Accessories in the USA. When you filter on the 2021 Trailblazer you find the following listed for cross bars:Clicking on the detail you find the following information regarding the part—including an engineer’s name—with the part number itself for the cross bars (42769714):

Ok, found a few things that might be of help. These are all approved Chevrolet accessories for the Trailblazer:
Roof-Mounted Dock Glide Kayak Carrier by Thule
Roof-Mounted Watersport Carrier by Thule
Roof-Mounted Compass Watersport Kayak Carrier by Thule
Do any of these help?

Alex, thanks! I thought the water sport carrier was an option based on pictures, but it says it needs crossbars? Unless that is not the case? The cross bars are the issue. I put in a Service Request: 9-6043004469 ticket. I need a resolution from Corporate. Any assistance is appreciated. Unfortunately, aftermarket racks are.not compatible with some GM models. Thanks! Hey everyone–
So the Chevrolet accessories website doesn’t offer roof rack cross bars for my new 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, equipped with roof rack side rails.
I’ve searched online extensively for a supplier (GM or aftermarket) for cross bars to no avail.
I’ve reached out to GM through their chat functionality, I’ve reached out to several dealer parts departments, and I also emailed several executives and have been unable to get any response on when the cross bars will be available.
I purchased several accessories for the roof rack on my new TB and unfortunately can’t use them because of the lack of cross bars. I was desperate, so I took a chance and ordered the cross bars for the 2021 Buick Encore GX (platform mate). Unfortunately, the bars are approximately 1″ too short to properly attach to the TB side rails. So I have to return them. I thought someone else may try this and I wanted to let everyone know it isn’t a solution either.
I am frustrated but don’t know what else to do except wait. If anyone has any ideas to get some information, I would truly appreciate the help/advice.
Thanks everyone.

Folks – I just got official word that GM has no plans to offer the cross-bars on the Trailblazer… at least as of this moment. That said, I wonder if Thule doesn’t have a compatible set.

Hi Alex–thank you the information. I contacted Thule and am waiting on their response; they don’t currently offer any products for MY2021 vehicles according to their website. When i get a response I will post an update.
I was wondering if you had any contacts that could look up at GM Korea part number for me–42769714. This part appears on GM Korea’s website as the cross bars for the 2021 Trailblazer (http://www.spoiler.co.kr/?act=shop.goods_view&CM=687&GC=GD1008#product_info4). If we can get a little more information on the item number to confirm that these are indeed the crossbars needed–I’ll work on trying to figure out how to order from GM Korea.
Thank you!

Hmm, it appears that link is for a third party. Do you have a first-party (GM/Chevrolet) link you’re mentioning?
