We have a 2021 Suburban High Country with captains chairs in the second row, The seat belts (coming out of the C pillar) keep getting twisted. It’s really bad – they’re twisted 5 and six times over. Last time I had it in to the dealership, I had to have them untwist them because I can’t do it at home. However, they’re back to the same condition again a few weeks later.
I’ve never experienced this issue in any other make or model. Anyone else have a similar problem. Is there a defect or design issue in this model/year that allows the belts to be easily twisted? I’m assuming it happens when it retracts into the pillar.
Figured it out. Where the belt bolts into the base of the exterior of the pillar swivels around 360 degrees, allowing the belt to get twisted. Rotating that around allows the twists to come out.
