ParticipantNewbie here picked up my 2021 Z71 a week ago (thank God I found one and didn’t have to order!).
Can’t believe I paid $70K for a vehicle w/o Adaptive Cruise Control! At first I dismissed the need for it, but a recent two hour drive on a crowded two-lane highway (with little opportunities to pass) had me second guessing that thought. It seems I have all of the hardware needed to make this work – Forward Collision Alert and Following Distance indicators include cameras and sensors – it seems to me a software update would be the only thing needed to make ACC work. Anybody heard of an aftermarket flash for this?
Likewise, I have the HD Surround Vision package and cameras everywhere, including on both exterior mirrors, but there is no option for Blind Spot Cameras! This is one of the most useful, safety-oriented functions, especially on large vehicles with towing capability, that could be provided IMO. Instead I have cameras angled to view the front tires to prevent hitting them on curbs when parking against them. Handy? Maybe. Useful? Not so much, unless you regularly park on streets. And why is GM more concerned about damage to my rims than preventing me from getting in a crash? Again it seems a software update could easily fix this since the hardware is there (but maybe not pointed in the right direction). I know I could spend about $1000 for an aftermarket update, but find it embarrassing that my wife’s 2017 Honda Pilot that has half the MSRP of my new ride, has a RH blind spot camera.

ParticipantI don’t believe an aftermarket flash for Adaptive Cruise is possible, at least it’s not something I’ve heard of.
But if your Z71 has the HD Surround Vision option, it should be equipped with blindspot cameras as well. Open the “Camera” app from the home screen. Then tap the side view that shows the front tires that you mentioned, and then click that view again and it should switch to a rear facing camera that shows the blindspots of the vehicle on both sides.
