My Sierra got damaged by the dealership when changing the oil – they dented the transmission pan and its leaking. Third time they’ve damaged the vehicle, but it’s the only one within 2 hours of me. First time – replaced a door. Second time – body shop was able to fix it.
This time, looks like they had it on the lift and something smacked it. Either way, needs to get fixed regardless of if they caused it or not.
Problem is, it’s been in the shop for over a month. GMC will “reimburse” me for my monthly payment for every 30 days it’s out of service, or cover the cost of a rental. The guy I spoke with at corporate today says sometimes the rentals get denied if the dealerships don’t fill out the paperwork correctly (cost of several hundred dollars for monthly vs. several thousand for a rental).
They can’t connect me to a supplier quality engineer or purchasing agent, and the only information I can get is they are “approving a new part number”. No ETA can be provided to me by either the dealership or corporate.
Anyone have experience with this? How long am I likely going to be waiting just to get my vehicle back? I honestly don’t care about the money, I just want this fixed.
