Just wondering if anyone has heard of an issue with the CT5’s console being extremely cold. Living in Canada with temperature -17 degrees C the console near the dash remains ice cold. After 1 hour of driving with the heater set at 26 C, the temperature never got above 0 C at the console making the car very uncomfortable to drive at these cold temperatures. The dealer says it will eventually warm up. Even after 2 hrs of driving it is still very coldat the console.

I have the exact same issue with my CT5-V. If you lift the cover from the wireless phone charger you’ll see there is a vent that blasts cold air directly on it. It’s not air coming from the heater…it’s air from the outside. Even if I have my heater running for 30 minutes, it’s freezing air that comes out from there. Obviously that brings the whole console pretty cold…They should have added insulation around it at least.

fyi if you search in some XT5 forums, people are complaining about the same issue…didn’t raise it yet with my dealer…let me know if you do so we can compare their answers 🙂

Well another winter goes by and my dealer did nothing to fix the problem with the cold console even after showing them the vent hole in the console. They there was nothing they could do.
There is one good thing, when I go to trade in the car at a different car manufacturer next year, the mileage will be low as I only drive the car 7 months a year.
