I bought a 2019 Silverado a year ago with 63K miles, At 79K miles cylinder 5 misfire was detected, and of course the warranty has expired. Took it to dealership, they confirmed the misfire and said cylinder 4 was also bad. They confirmed lifters were bad, cost to fix between $4K and $6k depending on if the cam shaft was damaged. Well of course the cam shaft is damaged so now to do lifters and cam shaft its $8,500. Then they said there were shavings in the motor and bearings and said the best option would be to replace the motor completely and that cost is $13,000. I understand things cost more these days and labor for this level of work isn’t cheap, but I feel like $13K is excessive and I’m wondering if I’m being scammed here. Does this sound out of scope? Anyone have this issue or seen this issue?

I reached out to GM for any assistance and was ultimately told because I didn’t have the routine maintenance performed at a GM dealership, my request for assistance is DENIED! The only routine maintenance performed on the truck was oil and filter changes. I only had it a year and 3 months. Any help or direction from you guys is appreciated.

Would you mind giving me the last 8 of your VIN. I want to look up the motor as that seems a little on the high side.
