ParticipantHi All,
New to gmauthority but happy to join the forum! I was wondering if anyone has heard, read, or been told about the release date for the 2017 Chevy Colorado. I have my sights set on this vehicle and am anxious to learn the date it’ll hit dealership lots. All news articles I have read from multiple sources simply say it’ll be released in Q4 of 2016…that’s as specific as I’ve read. A salesman at one local dealership here in Maine said he hadn’t heard when they’d be getting them. Another salesman at a different dealership actually gave a time frame- 3-4 weeks. I would think if the release date was that soon though it would be somewhere online…
Anyone have any idea?

KeymasterThe only thing we know for sure at this point is that it’s the fourth quarter of this year:
The issue is that dealers all over the country get these vehicles at different times based on allocation, order placement times, and delivery logistics. So, for instance, if your dealer orders one for you (and has enough allocation to do so within the GM system, meaning that it is “allowed” to order the vehicle based on its sales performance), then it can take about 4-8 weeks to get it to the dealership. Other factors can speed up or slow this process… like the options that are ordered on the truck and any quality issues at the factory.
All in all, it’s very tough to provide a definitive answer since there are so many variables involved.
The question I would be asking is whether the dealer has already placed orders for the 2017 Colorado for their own inventory. If so, they can track the orders and see the time frame to delivery that way.

ParticipantI also am interested in ordering a 2017 Colorado. I am an avid Tennessee fan and am interested in ordering an inferno Orange truck.
I have read that the inferno orange color is bing deleted! Please say that is not true -

Keymaster@Feebee well, the Inferno Orange is, in fact, being discontinued for the 2017 model year. Here’s the info on that (under the updates and section changes):
