We’ve had our Denali for 1 week (after waiting 4 months on order) and love it. However, 2 issues have already come up that shouldn’t.

      1. My wife calls me one day and says her usual radio stations don’t come in. I checked and sure enough the radio will seek through the entire FM band and not pick up a single station? Dealer said “well you have XM”. Yes, but these stations come in on every car we have and not on the 70K Denali?
      2. Wife takes car through the carwash and had water leaking through the liftgate (yes it was closed).

Come on GMC, help me out.

Hey @suckaburn. Welcome to GM Authority and congratulations on the new Yukon. They’re truly amazing vehicles.

      Regarding the issues:
      1. Sometimes the quality of the station might be below what the seek feature would like, and skips over it. Can you manually find the station using the dial on the right of the screen?
      2. The leak does not sound good. You say the liftgate was closed, but was the glass portion of the liftgate closed as well?

@suckaburn, also you should inspect the rubber lining that seals the entire door. You also want to make sure that the car wash people did not open the door to dry it off, letting some water get in before closing it.

We’ve had our new Denali 2015i for three weeks. We waited nearly four months for it and already we have had two issues.

      1. Our navigation system is not working. When we picked up our new Denali, we were told everything was in working order. Two days into ownership we realized that the Navigation wasn’t working. Dropped it off at the local GMC dealer to see if they could figure it out. An hour later, no luck. Said they’d need a full day to do some diagnostics.

      2. Got our first snow storm here in Utah a couple days ago. While driving to a local ski resort, water started leaking onto us from both sides of the panel on the ceiling of the car (where the interior lights and sunroof knob is).

Needless to say this is not what we expected from a vehicle we paid nearly $80,000 for. The worst part is the service guys at the dealership don’t act surprised at all about our issues.

Mamajune they fixed your problem with your vehicle. Stop bellyaching about it.

Actually,no. They did not. Problems due to water/moisture can manifest themselves years later. Clearly, one cannot fix a problem which has not yet occurred; however, GM can indemnify the owner (and a future owner) against future repairs/problems which can be reasonably traced back to the original water leak. There would then be no need to replace the car.

@mamajune Well what do you want them to do about something that is not happening now, that may or may not happen in the future?

I just purchased a 2015 Tahoe LTZ – my nav system / GPS is also on the fritz – but I dont see a water issue at this point similar to Marmajune’s

Onstar indicator on rear view mirror is Red (not green) – indicating a problem, and the GPs map shows me off by at least 50 miles from current position.

CAL shown on dash display (calibrate?) – but I have no restriction from satellite access overhead. When map is visible a GPS with an X through it is visible – meaning no GPS data. Xm works – I figure that runs through same antenna.

Onstar tech says – bad Onstar module, or Antenna. Dealership going to try putting in a new antenna.

Anyone else have this pop up yet? should I create a new thread for just this issue?

I purchased a 2015 Yukon Denali in November. Mid December my navigation and GPS system went out. The on star light was red not green. And, the GPS showed me a good 100miles away. Onstar said to go to the dealership. The dealership ordered a new antenna, which had to then get painted. The new antenna was not the answer. The dealership had to order a new part (maybe a module?). However, the part was on backorder . The dealership said this has been an issue. Wow-really! I find this to be very disappointing. Today, my vehicle is getting the new part. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
My other disappointment is the seats are to fold “flat”. Yes they are flat however on a slant. I have had groceries roll out and break upon opening the lift gate. I spoke with a friend who has the 2015 “XL” and he has the same issue. I am hoping I did something incorrectly. Any ideas?

I am having issues with my brand new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali. It had a leak in the back right rear window from the start. They had to replace the entire headliner in the interior. Now I’ve got a shiver when in idle both in gear and out of gear. It feels like the car needs more gas. I’ve taken it into the shop 3 times now. The service department, after listening to my complaint and acknowledging the shiver, ultimately states that the car is “operating as designed”. I’ve test driven a 6.2 liter Denali that does not have this issue.

They’ve stone-walled me at GM, essentially saying they can’t fix a problem that doesn’t exist. Has anyone else had this issue? You would think that a brand new car wouldn’t have this issue, and that they could do something to fix a rough idle. I’m beyond frustrated. I’d love to hear if anyone has the same problem.

I have had issues from the beginning. Tire that slowly leaks but they find nothing, so I eventually replaced the tire. During a trip the lift gate opened only slightly. This was fixed and later recall issued. Backing out of a parking spot and all four wheels locked and lurched. Service 4WD on panel. This was fixed and later recall issued. I get intermittent electrical issues. Wipers turn on in no rain, audio off randomly turns the radio off. On two occasions upon approaching car, the unlock works but no lights on entire truck come on. I hold the starter button and it then comes on. Sensor sets off the front collision warning. They replaced it and now it goes off when I am at a complete stop with the vehicle in front also stopped.
Two days ago while driving 70 mph on a highway the sunroof exploded. There was no rocks and all I heard was a loud explosion noise. Glass went everywhere. The glass is slightly curved up. The dealer states that it is physical damage and will not cover it.
Their only answer is to use my phone to record video when the next issues occur.
      Anyone else experience these issues?

I have a 2015 Yukon Xl Denali. My wife and I love the vehicle, exterior and interior looks are great. One issue that bothers me is that when parked on a hill or landing my boat, I put the vehicle in drive and let go of the brake and the vehicle instantly rolls backward. The trans does not hold the vehicle at all. I had a 2013 sierra denali with the six speed and did not have this issue. But its very important to have this trans hold the vehicle especially when leaving a parking spot on an incline. The vehicle I purchased window sticker was over 76 thousand. I have had three GMC Denali trucks and they seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper as time goes on. If you don’t pay attention you will fall behind your competition. I work 20 yrs in a Taconite Plant and foreigners put us out of work as well as anti union politicians. You better get with the program. I keep telling my self and others that I will never by a foreign vehicle. But things may change.

Almost similar to what we had experience where the door rubber lids looks tightly close however when it rains, there are leaks inside it, I think the door is not entirely fit to it. We had it fix though but it was them who did the repair.
