InactiveJust bought this truck with the Driver Alert Package. It is not what the dealership sold me. I talked to 3 different dealerships how great of item this is. The lane departure warning is nothing more that a alarm that goes off if you don’t use the turn signal. No blind spot detection as told when passing or changing lanes. The Forward collision Alert is the real joke, after taking it back to the dealership to have it checked out why it doesn’t come on, they checked with GM and was told that it works only when the air bags are about to be set off. The different dealerships all said that it is suppose to warn you if you come up too fast on another vehicle. Let me tell you it never comes on with any warning of red lights that are supposed to flash on the windshield. Do not waste your money for this option of $845.00. Chevrolet needs to tell their customers the right thing when they sell the package, not a guessing game.

ParticipantSounds like you need to go into the DIC and turn the systems on.

Moderator@Anonymous Yupp, I think @CraigInIndy is spot on (as usual). Have you tried turning it on via the Driver Information Center?

ParticipantSorry it took so long to get back to this. The Driver Information Center is turned on as far as I can tell, the seat will buzz, when you change lanes. The problem that I have is the forward collision doesn’t work the way the dealerships explained it, they talked like the truck would warn you at least 3 car lengths ahead of you that you are coming up to fast and the truck would slow down. I have seen this one time come on and that was when someone stopped directly in front of me, the lights flashed in the windshield. Chevy stated to my dealership that the Collision Alert is only to let you know you are about to hit and the air bags are about to be released, they need to change the settings so it will do what they say it should do.
