Hello…..My chevy salesperson just called to tell me I can order a 2014 Equinox now. They just got the word from GM.
      So????

    • #41306

That’s good news! I’m going to dig up some RPO-level changes for the 2014 model.

Did the dealer tell you what is different about it?

No Alex. I was so suprised I never asked. In fact, he was more suprised than I was. But, I’ll stop in this week and see what is going on. Thanks for contacting me…..Richard

Hi…..Stopped by the dealer today. Salesperson said no RPO but I can order a 2014 sight unseen. No prices yet, no options…..but I can order one. I nodded my head, shook hands and said I would be in touch. I am truly at a loss……….?.

If you want to get the RPO options and other info on the 2014 Nox watch this web site. The info pops up here before anywhere else.

I expect the info in the next week or two. Save this web site as it is a good source of info.

According to my info, June 27 is the date when the GM system will actually begin accepting orders for Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain.

I also hear that they would not be officially accepting orders until June. Very exciting though, can’t wait to see what is in store. I am also very excited for the Stringray release.

To all…………I have to apologize. I did take, on good faith, that the Chevy dealer and salesperson were correct in telling me a 2014 Nox could be orderd. But the question I asked them was how. No RPO, no photos, no specs. They shook their heads and I thanked therm in hope of more information in the future.

      Sorry…………….Richard

Here I am again with the 2014 Nox. My information site is media.gm.com
I was told in these pages to wait for the new “WOW” factor. There is nothing new….chrome wheels????
Not even lighted outside mirror directionals. That woud be a little something new.
Well, I may be wrong again. If not, what to do?????

    • #42937

@empanage6 I can do you one better:

Here are all the changes for the 2014 Equinox:
      http://gmauthority.com/blog/2013/06/2014-chevy-equinox-gets-minute-changes-for-new-model-year-rpo-central/

Too bad the revised 2.5 didn’t make it in there. Hoping for a rolling update sometime in the near future.

Alex…..Thank you…………will the six cyl. still be available for 2014?

      Thanks………….Richard

    • #43068

Richard: absolutely! The excellent 3.6L V6 LFX engine has received a tremendous amount of critical acclaim from owners and the media, excellent will remain in the lineup for 2014. Not sure if this will be the case when the all-new D2UX/XX-based model arrives in 2015, though.

I also have some in-depth info on the 3.6L LFX V6 in case you’re interested:

Alex, thank you. I am always interested in what you have to say and offer.
My wife and I know that the Nox is the perfect car for us. The 2011 has been fault free and always a pleasure to drive.
So, even though it’s missing outside mirror directionals (joke), we are going for the 2014.
And, thank you for all the help you have given me in these pages.

      Best…………Richard

    • #43079

      Richard — my pleasure!

Are you trading in the 2011 or adding on to it? Just curious 🙂

      Enjoy the 2014…

No Alex. My Daughter is in desperate need of a car. So we are giving he the 2011 and going for a 2014. The 2011 has 22,000 good miles on it. I flew for American for 40 years as a Flight Engineer, so I love machinery….especially if it has wings or wheels. Thats one reason I am looking forward to the LFX engine in the Nox. Good engineering behind that powerplant.

      Thanks again………….Richard

Nox Paint. Shades of grey. New paint for 2014 is red, a tired tan and a common silver. Then you have black, lighter black and dark black.
Harkens to the pre-bail out days.
In 2013 if I wanted premium white, and paid more, I could not get a six but had to settle for a four???????????
Is this the same for 2014. If I want white diamond tintcoat premium I cannot have a six?

      Thanks…………Richard

    • #43217

Well, I just configured a 2013 Equinox in Summit White (not an extra cost color) and the V6 LFX… but you’re right that, for some reason, White Diamond Tricoat (extra cost color) is only available with the 2.4L Ecotec 4 cylinder.

I’m not sure if this will continue being the case for the 2014 Equinox. The RPO-level changes don’t mention any changes to this, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t change.

Thanks Alex. That is a strange parameter to have in the ordering process…………….Richard

    • #43260

It is strange indeed. One would think that the extra-cost color would be available on the high(er)-end V6 model. Here’s to hoping GM fixes it sooner rather than later.

Hello Alex………….I put the order in for a 2014 2LT loaded except for leather and sun roof, neither of which we care for. Our fellow member @CraigInIndy, WAS RIGHT ON THE MARK . 6/27 is the date GM will allocate 2014 orders.
I orderd the six, so it will probably be made in Ontario. Our US plant is doing the four right now.
I am in contact with the head union rep. for CAMI in Canada, and the Ontario plant is running 3 Equinox shifts at this time. So, there it is.

      Best…..Richard

Congrats Richard, enjoy the new ‘Nox!

      Hi everyone.

I’m new to this site but I have been waiting to get the 2014 Equinox for a while because of one feature in particular: Siri/iPhone integration. It seems everyone I talk to at dealerships don’t even know what I’m talking about. The Sonic and Spark already have Siri Eyes free which allows you to activate Siri from the voice activation button on the steering wheel and I have been waiting to make sure the 2014 Equinox has that feature. Also, Apple announced that with iOS 7, there would be further car integration allowing you to view the Maps application and other information on the car’s screen.

Does anyone know if any of these features have made it in to the 2014 Equinox?

      Thanks!

      -Kyle

Alex…………After all my posturing and praise for the Nox; it is not going to happen. The salesperson I was dealing with became such a turn off. Whe he told me he really did not care if I orderd the dam car or not. So it became not. Went out the next day and picked up and end of season 2013 Murano $39,900 for $31,200. I have had a murano before, so it was like returning to an old friend.
Sorry Alex, but some folks at GM never learn

      Best….Richard

    • #48080

Richard — thanks for the update, and sorry for my late reply. The Murano is a great car, and it sounds like you got a great deal, so congratulations.

This is another example demonstrating that GM needs to continue improving its dealer network.
