Hello! Our 2013 Tahoe’s horn randomly blares whenever we leave it locked for an hour or more, to the point that we have to leave it unlocked whenever we go anywhere. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? I’m willing to disable or remove the security system, if that’s feasible to do and it’ll stop the issue.
Thanks in advance!
Jeff
You might have a wire chaffed (shorting to ground) just below the drivers air bag in the steering wheel. Have fixed a few that had intermittent horn going off
Thank you for your response and suggestion. Would the short you’re referring to cause the horn to go off intermittently at any time, or only when the car is locked? In our situation, the horn only goes off randomly when the car is locked. Never otherwise. That’s why I’m thinking it’s related to the security/theft deterrent system.
Randomly anytime
