Just had my “new” CPO Avalanche in for Pa. State inspection and was informed that upper brake light on the cab was dim and had water in it. The vehicle has 21800 miles on it and I am responsible for 600 of those miles after receiving the truck as a Certified Pre Owned from a dealer in Utah and taking possession about 2 weeks ago. Any how, in Pa. this vehicle will not pass a state inspection in this condition and the cost to replace this light is $580 with labor included. I am in the process of trying to get GM to pay for the replacement as I feel a vehicle whose lights are taking on water should not be sold as a worry free vehicle. The dealer in Utah has offered to help “defer” the cost but I am feeling that a CPO truck should not lose it’s certification after 2 weeks and 600 miles. Any advice ?
