I have a 2012 GMC Terrain and lately I have been having issues playing my iphone 8+ via the USB.
The music will play for anywhere from 20-30 seconds, and then stop. Then the message “Reading USB” will show on the screen until I unplug it, and once I plug it back in, it will not even pick it up. Just continues to say “Reading USB” until it kicks over to the radio.
I have tried plugging in other phones and the same thing happens, so I do not believe it is my phone and/or the different iOS softwares (old and new).
Has anybody else had this issue? Is there a way to reset or update the car radio system? Should I try replacing the USB port (I have found replacement parts online, seems like a relatively easy swap out)? I don’t believe the 2012 supports apple carplay OR playing music through bluetooth, but maybe I am wrong.
Thanks
