I have a 2012 Chevy Equinox 2.4L Flex Fuel FWD My High Pressure Fuel Pump went out, My brother and I replaced the HPFP and High Pressure Fuel Feed Line. I had to wait a while on the Fuel Line due to a shortage, so I went ahead and cleaned and replaced a few more things. I installed a new MAP and MAF sensor, cleaned the Throttle body and installed new Camshaft Position Sensors (Intake and Exhaust Solenoids). I had also just replaced the Spark Plugs just before the HPFP went out.
After installing the HPFP and sensors, I couldn’t get the car to start. When I turned the key to start it, it would crank but when I turned the key to the off position, it would still try to crank 3 or 4 times. It just kept going as if I was still turning the key to start it, all by itself.
I plugged my scan tool up and came up with the following codes.
P0113- Intake Air Temp Sensor 1 Circuit High
P0097- Intake Air Temp Sensor 2 Circuit Low
P0107- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low
And the P0172 code which was the initial code I had for the High Pressure Fuel Pump.
I haven’t changed my oil yet and of course it smells like gas. The car had to sit for a few months with the battery disconnected and MAP and MAF Sensors out. I hadn’t intended on keeping everything disconnected for so long but again, I had to wait a while on the line so I didn’t mess with it again until I had everything.
Is there some sort of sequence with disconnecting the battery or a reset that I can do to get the car to start? All answers and comments are welcome.
The car was running great before. Just the high pressure fuel pump problem. No leaks or anything anywhere. I just bought the car a few months before so that’s why I replaced the MAP and MAF Sensors.
