I purchased a 2012 Chevy Traverse a couple days ago and on the standard equipment it stated “Bluetooth connection” it had the 2 buttons on the steering wheel and states it is “standard” feature. Upon trying several times to sync the feature, I find out it does not have Bluetooth. My question is, if it is posted on the spec sheet on the window, the sheet they printed out for me and on the GM website that it is standard, should I pursue making the dealer add this to the vehicle at their expense? I spoke with the General Manager and he said they would “split ” the difference with me on installing an after market Bluetooth. It’s gonna cost me about 150.00. I just feel it was false advertising. Please help!!

Well first is it a LS, LT, or LTZ? Because I think on some models you have to buy a connectivity package(correct me if I’m wrong) in order to have Bluetooth.

Why didn’t the salesman sync it for you? He should do it as common courtesy for his customers. At very least he can find a nerd in the shop to do it in a minute. My salesman did this for me on my Denali and my CTS. The have a tech guru who knows everything and had it done it one minute. Matter of fact I believe on my new car customers satisfaction survey they asked if the dealer set up Bluetooth for me.

According to the info I read is standard equipment unless you have onstar delete.

2012 Chevrolet Truck Equinox STANDARD EQUIPMENT
UPF Bluetooth for phone, personal cell phone connectivity to
vehicle audio system and HMI (Human Machine Interface)
      1 – Deleted with (UE0) OnStar delete.

Opps, I screwed up. My bad, somehow got the info for Equinox, bluetooth is not standard in the Traverse.

But its included in equipment group on the 1LT, 2LT and LTZ and available on the LS

UPF Bluetooth for phone, personal cell phone connectivity to
vehicle audio system, includes (NP5) leather-wrapped
steering wheel with redundant audio controls
1 – Included with (PDC) Bluetooth Connectivity for Phone.
Not available with (UE0) OnStar delete.
2 – Not available with (UE0) OnStar delete.

Yes that’s how I figured out something was wrong bc it would never sync/ pair with my iPhone. Then I called the dealer and spoke with my salesman and he said he would help me with it. When I got there he told me it was not equipped with Bluetooth. That’s when I got upset and told them that was false advertisement, and the used car mgr refused to help me and basically said I should go to Best Buy and purchase the Parrott system. I called the Genetal mgr and he stated they get this complaint a lot. He agreed to have it installed as an after market but I would have to pay 150.00 for it, half basically. How can they get away with saying it has it and then saying oh sorry it doesnt after you already signed on the dotted line!! Even if it was deleated because I read somewhere sometimes they order fleet vehicles without it they should tell u that!! Poor customer service for sure!!! I plan on letting everyone I know about it too!!!

If it has Onstar delete, look at the parts label in the glove box, on the door or on the spare tire cover, where ever they happen to put it on that model I don’t know. There are option codes that the vehicle was built with, the option code for the delete is ‘UEO’.

Did you buy a used vehicle? Typically fleet vehicles are special ordered for specific fleet customers and not sold NEW to general public. Could be its a short term lease return like from a rental company like Enterprise etc. I know the local rental company at airport was selling used cars a few years ago, Impala’s. So we called and asked if any were still available and she told us we were too late, if they were not sold be a certain date they had to be returned to Chevrolet as a condition of the lease. So the rental company could flip them for a profit or let them go back to GM. They were like 1 yr old with low miles.

If they are willing to pay half …then they admit to full responsibility. Also at Vic1212 even if the truck is used, these vehicles come with a bumper to bumper protection plan …that covers EVERYTHING on it, standard in writing!
