2011 chevy express 1500 4.3 cranks sputters and dies. It does this about 4 times until all the fuel it cleared, the starter stays engaged since it detects no fuel and shuts off after 5 sec. This happened with old fuel pump in Jan 2022, when i had it towed to mechanic. The next day it starts right up and i was able to drive it until March 20th when i dropped back off at mechanics for a big list of repairs & maintenance. Then happened with the new (AC DELCO) fuel pump 1 week after installation. This time it started back up after 1 hour of sitting.
2 days ago it happened again, had it towed to the mechanic, and again it started up the next morning. Later that afternoon the issue happened again, and they tried to figure it out before closing for the night. Once again it started up the next day.
Today i picked it up to do a job (left it running at the job) and brought it back, shut it off, and it started right back up no issues.
Has anyone run into this issue before. I don’t think my mechanic can handle this one. I think i will need a GM specialist, but i’m afraid of the dealer. Anyone have an idea what this issue may be?
