I purchased this equinox due to low compression issues. I ended up replacing the timing chain components, heads, valve cover, gaskets, o rings, and solenoids.
Ensured the timing marks were all perfect. Topped off the coolant and replaced the oil.
With everything in order and all connections secure I go to start the car. Check engine lights are off. I go to start and it tries to start but doesn’t take. I try again and check engine light comes on. The codes are as follows:
P00C6 – Fuel Rail pressure too low
P228C – Fuel pressure regulator 1 exceeded control limits – Pressure too low
P0113 – Intake Air temperature sensor 1 circuit high bank 1
I suspected a vacuum leak so I took off the air intake and reseated the fuel rail (I did put a small amount of Vaseline on the rubber gaskets to help seal) as I believe the first time it wasn’t in all the way. I made sure everything was seated perfectly.
I went to start the car and the same thing happens. If I push on the gas I’m able to get the car to stay alive at 2k rpm. The moment I let it go it instantly struggles and dies.
I’m going to replace the high pressure component in hopes it’s just not pushing enough fuel to the rails and so on.
I do have a BlueDriver that plugs into the OBD sensor and am able to read live readings. These are the fuel and intake readings:
Intake manifold absolute pressure- 24.8 inHg
Fuel level input – 19% to 30%
Fuel pressure gauge – 47.4 psi
Fuel rail pressure – 50 to 66 psi
Looking for additional input and help to see if I overlooked anything.
TIA for reading and any potential input
