I’ve got a 2002 chevy suburban with a 5.3 flex fuel engine. The battery and alternator died awhile back and were replaced. Right after doing that the vehicle refused to start. Changed out the fuel pump and got the vehicle running, but now it idles and accelerates rough, with the occasional backfire and it now sputters as if it’s not getting enough fuel. Changed out the fuel filter, all spark plugs and spark plug cables. It’s now showing codes for multiple cylinder misfires and ignition coil errors. I have not changed out or swapped the ignition coils yet, to see if they are the issue. The vehicle was working fine, prior to the battery and alternator dying making me think the issue is somehow electrical related. Looking for suggestions of what could be wrong. Should I suspect the ignition coils or could something else be causing the misfire I.e. the throttle position sensor, etc? Thanks in advance for the help.
