My driver side door will not unlock either by remote or by button on the door, but works fine manually. I have removed the actuator for replacement, but can’t seem to find one that matches exactly…..even on the official GM parts site. Mine has a white plastic part with a yellow rod down one side, and an extra electrical connector that has been glued onto the actuator (P# 16637781). I am told that you can’t buy this unit without purchasing the entire door lock assembly at a cost of over $200. I was also told that this extra white part that is glued on is the door ajar switch that trips the factory alarm. Can this just be bypassed or crossed out, and just use the readily available door actuator that does not have the door ajar attachment on it? I plan to sell this car soon and do not want to spend $200 on the whole unit.
