1999 chevy suburban transfer case problem

      I just recently replaced my transmission on my 99 burb. Forgot to put the transfer case in neutral before I unplugged it. Now it will shift into 4hi part time 4 and 4lo when I try to put it in 2wd. I can hear the tc motor trying to switch into 2hi but it goes straight to 4lo. Is there any way to fix this problem or what would I have to do.
