Have this buick with 3800 engine… 02 lesabre.. got it with a high idle issue. I figured it was the typical fireball crux, and tore the intakes off.. gasket failure was definitely present in both upper and lower intakes along with plenum warpage, so replaced gaskets, new UIM… fired it up and off it went to racing.. upwards of 2500 rpm. Checked for leaks, none present. Hooked up scanner watching live data, can see that TPS value is all over the place, so unbolted tps. Manually maxing out tps and releasing brought value back to zero, and an almost desired idle rpm. Then it started creeping back up… 2000+ rpm. Live data shows 35% +-So, went and bought new tps. Same issue. But intermittent. I drove car, started out good then started racing… could stomp throttle to WOT and release ,would bring live data value back to zero, and normal running conditions , for a few minutes. Then repeat all over again. Im drawing a blank here folks.. any insight will be most appreciated. Also let me mention before replacing tps,car was throwing 2 major codes.. tps circuit and fuel level sending unit.. gas gauge does not work… anyways.. thanks for the acceptance folks, hope i can help someone with my knowledge in the future

I have the same issue with an older Buick Regal 1990 have been working on it for a month. Two new TPS’s, 3 new IAC’s, 3rd ECU, new temp sensor. Still off to the races. When I reset everything and put ECU into learning mode all is good next morning hard starting, races, Dies in reverse and almost stalls first time you put it in drive and step on the gas. I checked fuel pressure 40PSI on the nose replaced fuel regulator, Fuel Pump and fuel filter still no change. Taken to two mechanics, not a clue. Neither could find a vacuum leak in the system. No codes no service engine light just runs like a sick dog. I sure hope someone from GM chimes in this only has 60,000 miles on it but may go to the shredder sone if I can not figure this out
