That’s the complete opposite of what’s true. Sold orders take precedence over stock orders, always have. If the salesman told you 5-6 weeks he was bs’ing you. It takes more time than that, 8-10 weeks for Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL.
If any come in faster its because the dealer had one in the pipeline that already matched the customers needs, or the dealer traded.
PS – Railroad car shortage is a big problem, its delaying vehicle shipping. Friend is a trucker and he has been working a lot of extra loads because of the rail car shortage. Hauling coal to power plants because the trains can catch up.
