The new phones and operating systems tend to either work or not work with these GM systems when they are new. Case in point the I phone 3 worked great and the 5 had a few issues at first.
Apple offered updates to the 5 and their newest OS they have. It fixed all the issue.
Too many mistake these at GM issues when the phone makers are responsible for meeting the GM system need. The way it works with the auto MFG is they set their systems up and each and every phone maker is responsible for meeting these systems.
I the automakers had to account for every phone system out there they would never get all of them covered. More phones vs less auto system get it?
My recommendation is keep with a current common phone and make sure to keep the latest updates in it and your system will work. My Terrain has been flaw less out side the incoming call issue on my new 5 but that went away months ago with the update from Apple.
