Yes, it is true. I have a 06 with the Honda engine and transmission. The engine is to strong for the torque converter and if you do not change out the fluids every 30,000 – 40,000 miles it starts to act funny. I am on my 3rd one (torque converter) right now and I am out of warranty at 103,000 so I change the fluid regularly with only Honda transmission fluid. Hope this helps.
