You may have to attack the seam of the case as you see it, irrespective of any visable slot. A thin, small, flathead screwdriver should do the trick. If it were me, I’d wedge the case apart in an inconspicuous part of the case, say along the area where the key ring is looped through, so as to minimize scratching.
