Loving the flex fuel option on the HHR, a Mobil near me has E85 for $2.99. So the first month and a half has been good though it has had some lows. We have had some snowy weather that has challenged the tires on my HHR, will upgrade with better all seasons next year for sure. The dealer put some watered down windshield washer fluid in the container causing the fluid to freeze causing the sprayers to not work in a major snow storm after I got the vehicle. Other then that this vehicle is probably the most enjoyable commuter type car I have ever driven rivaling foreign cars I have driven. This vehicle is smooth and responsive from a handling standpoint, the engine has really impressed me for a 4 cylinder and a 2.2 at that, add E85 and the engine is surprisingly responsive. Honestly I was dreaming of a manual transmission, that would really make this car fun. Don’t get me wrong this vehicle isn’t perfect but 4 the money, I was having a hard time finding a comparable value. Inside this vehicle is decked out with leather and heated seats, the seats are very stiff possibly to stiff for many people including my wife. I love the interior including the upright position of the seats and the stiffness or hardness of the seats does not bother me. Why you should consider a used HHR; if you don’t mind retro styled vehicles the functionality this vehicle is excellent other than back seat leg room is awkwardly small. But in reality what this vehicle is is a commuter vehicle offering added functionality, with seats down a cavernous back opens up to transport all kinds of objects. I went to the dealership to checkout a silver HHR and a couple other vehicles all GM of course, after driving the Silver HHR the dealer directed me to my white HHR with cool running boards and sun roof, nice chrome rims that match the mirrors and the roof rack. After driving my HHR I didn’t even test one of the other cars, I was sold… If you are looking for a nice used commuter car, (although not great gas mileage) with great functionality and enjoyable to drive I strongly recommend the HHR, mine was actually a fleet (rental) vehicle, this might scare many but this would be my third Chevy that was purchased either directly through a rental company or through a dealer, the value you can get is excellent and my vehicles have been worry free other than normal car issues alternators etc.. I wanted to share my experience with my HHR and GMAuthority seemed to be an excellent place; my other vehicles include A 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx (an excellent value and the most worry free vehicle I have ever owned, a great 3.5 V6 engine), and a 98 Chevy 2 door blazer (I just retired my 99 4 door blazer with 240,000 miles as my trade in). Hope you enjoyed the read, and I hope we will all consider purchasing GM vehicles.
