I don’t know guys. I like the simplicity of Chevy SS… and @oldchevyman48 those are interesting suggestions — but seem much more complex than needed.
Now, @Rick — when you say that “GM has traditionally been an automaker of automobiles with good designs (although they could use a little help on the Impala and SS).” — have you seen the SS? Obviously, design is highly subjective, but given the fact that no one has seen the SS just yet, I’m skeptical as to your opinion in general.
That said, I find the Impala nothing short of beautiful.
And in regards to this:
“Values consumer input into the design, economy and pricing of the cars of the future.”
Taking the feedback of your customer base and/or potential customers can be healthy, but doing so blindly is anything but. There’s a reason most of us are not engineers, designers, and system integrators. That biggest reason for that, I believe, is because we are limited by what we know and have seen, whereas true professionals in the industry know what’s possible. Moral of the story is that consumer input should be taken at face value and should not drive a company; doing so is a surefire way to eliminate innovation.
