I opined about this a couple of years ago. In general, GMC may become the more masculine brand.
The example of the Equinox to the Terrain helps envision this kind of direction, where the Equinox is more feminine/mainstream while the Terrain is more bold/brash/masculine. The Equinox appeal to the more traditional car buyer, who perhaps doesn’t want to particularly stand out in a crowd, while the Terrain is the opposite.
But given that demand for the more masculine kind of vehicle may be less than that of the much more mainstream Equinox — leading to the evening out of resale values.
