“GMC is in a state where they are mostly rebadges of Chevrolets.”
Incorrect. Both Chevrolet and GMC are just sales channels for GM products.
“The only reason GM kept GMC was because polls showed that GMC buyers would not go back to Chevrolet.”
Incorrect. GMC remains because its internal costs are very low and its profit margins on the brands products are very high.
“If GM wants to show the profitability of GMC, I suggest they start making vehicles that Chevrolet does not.”
Incorrect. Doing so would eat into the profitability of GMC as evident by slow-selling products like the discontinued Envoy XUV.
The correct solution for GMC is to “stay the course”.
