Hello! Had the same issue you were having. I haven’t gone so far as to take the car in to see if it was a software issue with the MyLink, but the following is what I was able to muster on my own.
First of all, just so you know what I’m working with, I recently purchased a 2013 Malibu LTZ, and I use an iPod Classic 7G or, less frequently, an iPhone 4s plugged in by USB. I was getting really frustrated with songs and artists not appearing as they should have been.
Here are a couple of things that worked for me after scouring the search engines, finding some related issues, and then just doing trial and error myself:
1) ANY song (doesn’t happen with artists or albums for whatever reason) that has a “.” in it will not show up on MyLink. Case in point, I just purchased a new album with a first track that ended in an ellipsis (“…”) and it wasn’t showing up when I went to the album on MyLink, however, the other eight songs were. As soon as I removed the ellipsis in iTunes, the song appeared in MyLink, but as the ninth track, not the first track, as it should have been. Still haven’t figured that one out as to why it’s not in its correct place, but at least it’s there!
2) Not all of the artists were showing up, and I noticed that there were a few entries listed under the “Composers” MyLink music menu tab. Going into iTunes (or your media player of choice) and removing any text in the “Composer” field of the song info should help a few more artists actually show up under “Artists”. Not sure why “Composers” trumps “Artists” in this scenario, but it does. In addition, if you’re using iTunes like me, there are both an “Artist” and “Album Artist” field under each song’s info. Eliminating all text from the “Album Artist” section has also helped in the past with assuring correct song order when I’m using iTunes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it helps with MyLink as well. [If you need instructions on how to erase “Composer” and “Album Artist” quickly for every song in your music library if you’re using iTunes, I can help with that too. Doing it one at a time would take an eternity, in my opinion.]
3) The last tip I have – and it’s hard to tell if it’s necessarily what helped since I did so many different tweaks, but – a TON more artists showed up the next time I plugged in after I made sure that neither the “Genre” nor the “Album” fields were blank on iTunes. Even if you just put in “Unknown” or “Boogers” (your discretion, haha), put SOMETHING in those fields and it should help out. Before I did this step, I had around 415 total artists listed in MyLink, and afterward, I was near 465.

My outstanding issues:
– what I mentioned at the end of #1
– not all of an artist’s albums show up (case in point: I have about eight different albums by a specific artist, and all of them show up except for one. All formatting that I mentioned above in 1, 2, and 3 are consistent with the other albums, it just doesn’t want to show up.)
– duplicate songs appear under artists names of which I don’t own any of their music (case in point: I have live songs by Phish in my library which show up correctly under { Artists -> Phish -> Live } but then also show up under { Artists -> Chris Ledoux }. I had never even heard of Chris Ledoux until I Googled him and found out that he’s a deceased country singer. Weird, right? This is one of multiple cases that I can only attribute to GraceNote getting confused somehow and adding incorrect track info.)
