This same thing happened to my wife with her Terrain and iPod Classic 160 gig. Her Nano worked fine as well as my iPod Classic and a flash drive with music. So, my son did the iPod restore thing by holding down the center button and menu at the same time (i think but get instructions online) until the apple appears on the screen. After doing that the Terrain radio now once again recognizes my wife’s iPod Classic and after 2 weeks now all is OK. The one thing she did start doing was to pause the iPod before shutting off the vehicle because this is when it did stop working by just shutting off the ignition and not the iPod first.
