In january I wanted to order Silverado LTZ crew cab shortbox 1500 with a 6.2, well, dealer said open ordering won’t start untill mid March for the 6.2! They wouldn’t or couldn’t tell me why. While waiting I seached for info as the days went by, I learned about the the new Midnight Edition! OH BOY!! All black is what i wanted!! i promply called and he didnt know anything about it, until the next day, he told me its not available with a LTZ, 6.2 sunroof! I could’nt believe that, so I contacted GM marketing rep by email and he pointed me to another rep who told me ” your build is very much possible” and sent me the new brocher and the real prodution date of March 19th. So, with that email in hand I sent it to my dealer and TAA-DAAA! My truck was ordered March 19. Now, they (he) the dealer informed me they wont know untill a week or so if the order is accepted…Well, Tuesday he called and told me it has been accepted for production. I have the preliminary order detail #SMJM36. They did tell me I could track the build, but didnt say how. I’m told 6 to 8 week for delivery, HHMMM..end of May? middle of June? I started this jouney in January…Six months for a truck?….. Maybe for a corvette. But, what do you do… I hope I live long enough to enjoy it. When I do get it. Order tracking is more a liabillity / accountabillity to a company than a PR sales tool. Just sayin’
