Parts Man1 —– wrong – not rare camshafts happens in about 50% of the failures. remember GM under powertrain only replaces 1 bank of lifters (8) not all 16 as every engine builder has been taught to replace all lifters and camshaft together. but GM wants to save money and does not care about the second failure the customer will experience after the powertrain warranty expires. My experience is on the LT motors 35-50% will experience lifter/camshaft failures after they get out of powertrain. and GM will not assist with a policy adjustment for a KNOWN PRODUCT PROBLEM, this should be the next recall…followed by the 6 speed transmissions, 8 speed torque convertors and 10 speed valve body’s. No wonder Consumer Reports listed GMC and Cadillac as the 5 worst vehicle brands for durability and dependability.
