Chevrolet has new 6.2L engines going for 2600.00 now. That is down from 5200.00 Of course, install is separate. If you have a friend who is a mechanic, offer them a few hundred bucks and a case of beer to replace it. Have you tried to manually spin the engine by using a socket on the crankshaft pulley? Make sure that you try to spin the engine to the right (clockwise). I own a 2015 LTZ Z-71 with a 6.2 that has been rebuilt twice due to dropped lifters. Mine has 189,000 miles. I also own other 6.2L trucks that by the grace of God have been ok to this point with well over 100,000 miles on them. My newest edition to the fleet is a 2024 High Country Tahoe with a 6.2L. I would not get rid of the truck if I were you. Hope this diatribe helps a little.
