That part number matches to a remanufactured valve body. The one that they put on when this one failed was the same part number, also a remanufactured version.
It appears that this has happened so frequently that they are using the remanufactured ones in brand new trucks and even when those failed it was putting a remanufactured one In its place.
All of this is new to me, as I had not ever had to Kate such intimate knowledge of this process, but here we are.
This one failed a little over 30,000 miles. After driving on the new one for about a thousand miles, things seem to be going okay. But the fact that it was the exact same part and the exact same part number leaves me driving with anxiety. Instead of Peace of mind. I’m about to hit the busy season for my business and will be on the road with a trailer almost daily. + I will not feel better about this until I get through this stretch. After that, as the replacement nears that same mileage, I anticipate that I would probably be anxious again.
But I’m also concerned about the damage that might be being done to the transmission itself as a result of this issue.
