Update. Confirmed a few things. GM is freaking out about this. Forums like this get information out to the public. News
Like this is bad. GM continues to go through all kinds of cause of failure tests. They want to know what happened.
Confirmed metal contaminated oil is everywhere. Removed pan and metal sparkles and flakes are in the pan and can be suspended in oil with a swirl.
New engines are not on back order at this time. At least the gas 5.3.
